  • Patent number: 12237559
Abstract: An electromagnetic splitting coupler is provided for receiving a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) signal input and emitting a transverse electric mode one-zero (TE10) signal output. The coupler includes a receiver port; a plurality of emitter ports; a hollow manifold; and a terminus. The receiver port provides the TEM signal input. The emitter ports impart the TE10 signal output. The manifold includes a chamber that connects the receiver port to the emitter ports. The terminus seals the manifold. The coupler can also include an interface plate to connect the emitter ports thereto, such as to an antenna.

  • Patent number: 12034215
Abstract: A slotted waveguide array (SWA) antenna is provided for emitting electromagnetic radiation. The antenna includes a base, a pair of brackets, a pair of spars, a plurality of waveguides, and a radome. The base provides longitudinal and lateral support for the antenna on a platform. The brackets are disposed at longitudinally opposite ends on the base. The spars connect the brackets and are disposed at laterally opposite ends of the base. The waveguides are disposed in stagger array. Each waveguide has a pair of broad walls and a pair of side walls that share longitudinal edges. The broad wall is wider than the side wall. The broad wall includes elliptical slots penetrating each waveguide. The stagger array arranges first and second waveguides share respective first and second longitudinal edges. The radome covers the waveguides and connects to the pair of spars.

  • Publication number: 20240195068
Abstract: A capacitively or inductively driven spiral antenna creates an electric current distribution of a dipole, which generates a sensible magnetic field for various military applications including detecting and pre-detonating improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The antenna includes a dielectric substrate, a spiral antenna, driving elements such as tuning forks or loop, and a coaxial cable that connects to a source terminal. The substrate is a low dielectric loss insulating material to provide support for the antenna. The spiral antenna is tuned to a natural frequency is disposed on the substrate. The coaxial cable extends from the substrate to the source terminal.
