  • Patent number: 5871198
Abstract: A vehicle seat suspension includes a bottom frame adapted to be mounted on the vehicle and a top frame located above the bottom frame and adapted to support a seat thereon. A substantially fully collapsible scissors linkage is interconnected between the bottom frame and the top frame enabling the bottom frame and the top frame to move relative to each other substantially in parallelism. A biasing arrangement is disposed between the top frame and the bottom frame and has a preload force urging the top frame away from the bottom frame. A first adjustment mechanism is located in the top frame and selectively enables fore and aft adjustment of the top frame relative to the bottom frame.

  • Patent number: 5803544
Abstract: An emergency conveyance seat comprises a base and a back extending upwardly from the base. The back has a pair of elongated side pads, each of which has an upper end and a lower end. The back further has a head pad located adjacent the upper ends of the side pads. The side pads define a vertically elongated cavity in the back and an enclosure is connected to the side pads for enclosing the rear of the cavity. The cavity is adapted to receive a removable cylinder of a self-contained breathing apparatus. Each of the side pads is formed with a recessed area between the upper and lower ends and is adapted to receive a portion of the cylinder. A pair of removable side cushions is provided, each of the side pads being adapted to be disposed in one of the recessed areas when the cylinder is removed from the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5601333
Abstract: A seat retention system comprises a framework including a rigid, substantially U-shaped member having a pair of parallel, spaced apart legs and a bight section therebetween. The framework also includes a plurality of spring elements extending between the legs. A cushion assembly includes a cushion having an upstanding sidewall, a liner disposed on one side of the sidewall, a covering material secured to the liner, and a mounting strip disposed on the other side of the sidewall. The mounting strip is secured to the sidewall and the liner. A plurality of retaining strips has a first portion slidably mounted on the mounting strip and secured thereto, and a second portion engageable in a snap fit with the U-shaped member. Certain of the retaining clips are mounted in one orientation on the legs of the U-shaped member and between the spring elements. Certain other of the retaining clips are mounted in an orientation reversed from the one orientation on the bight section of the U-shaped member.
