Publication number: 20240075826Abstract: The concepts described herein provide a system and associated charging connector that is capable of offloading electric power stored in a rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) of an electrified vehicle to supply electric power to a stationary system, e.g., a residential dwelling or a business site, upon occurrence of a power outage in an electric power grid that supplies electric power to the stationary system. This includes the charging connector being capable of offloading electric power under conditions in which the RESS of the electrified vehicle is initially disconnected from the charging connector when the power outage occurs. This concept enables an electrified vehicle to supply electric power to a stationary system when connecting after a delay period subsequent to the power outage.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2022Publication date: March 7, 2024Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Samantha Gunter Miller, Douglas S. Patent number: 8844596Abstract: The present invention is a valve for use in a central tire inflation system including a casing securable to the rim of a vehicle in communication with the tire that houses a main body connectable to a pressurized fluid supply of the central tire inflation system, and a valve member moveable within the main body to control the flow of air through the valve. The valve can be mounted flush on the exterior surface of the rim or in a recessed position within the rim, and can be connected to a manifold that is able to control the flow of pressurized fluid from the central tire inflation system to each valve and tire connected to the valve. The operation of the manifold and pressurized fluid supply can be controlled utilizing a controller operably connected to the manifold and fluid supply, and to sensing devices that supply information regarding the operational conditions of the vehicle to the controller to assist in adjusting the inflation of the tires as necessary.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2010Date of Patent: September 30, 2014Assignee: Global Engineering Marketing LLCInventors: Martin A. Patent number: 6526357Abstract: Correction quantities are generated for yielding closer approximations of actual parameters. These are obtained by preliminarily subjecting parametric transducers to pre-selected parametric values and recording the measured values for each transducer in a data table for later use as or in correction quantities. An embodiment includes interpolation relative to data table values closest to the operationally measured parametric value and using the resulting interpolated value as a corrected parametric value. Such interpolations may be performed for two parametric transducers relative to two substances. The resulting corrected parametric values may then be subtracted to obtain a parametric difference. A further embodiment may include using correction quantities of a reference parametric transducer in interpolation calculations for the actual parametric transducers.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2000Date of Patent: February 25, 2003Assignee: Gambro, Inc.Inventors: Daniel A. Patent number: 5910252Abstract: Blood from a patient is treated extracorporeally by any selected one of a plurality of predetermined treatments. Each of the treatments involves the flow of blood from the patient into a primary chamber of a filtration unit, past a semipermeable membrane located in the filtration unit which separates the primary chamber from a secondary chamber of the filtration unit, out the filtration unit and back to the patient. A replacement fluid is selectively and controllably added to the blood, as required for the selected treatment. A secondary fluid is controllably and selectively introduced into the secondary chamber of the filtration unit for controllably collecting material passing across the semipermeable membrane from the blood or for supplying material to pass across the semipermeable membrane into the blood as required for the selected treatment. Materials are removed from the secondary chamber and collected in accordance with the selected treatment.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1993Date of Patent: June 8, 1999Assignee: COBE Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Lori A. Patent number: 5792967Abstract: A system for tightening a threaded fastener with a hydraulic wrench has a pumping unit which measures parameters representative of the torque applied to the fastener and the angle of advance of the fastener, remote from the wrench. The pump measures pressure as a parameter representative of torque and measures, pump speed as a parameter which is processed so as to be representative of the angle of advance of the fastener. A ratchet-type hydraulic wrench is used, and the pressure versus angle data produced in tightening a fastener is manipulated to discard irrelevant portions and smooth relevant portions to provide data representative of torque and angle during the tightening process from which to determine a final stopping parameter for terminating tightening. The system also has a calibration fixture for determining the volumetric rate of angle advance for a given wrench.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1997Date of Patent: August 11, 1998Assignee: Applied Power Inc.Inventors: George R. Steber, Dale A. Knutson, Douglas P. Miller

Patent number: 5694805Abstract: A travelling clamp unit of the type for extending and retracting a T-head clamping cylinder into and out of a T-slot of a press has a main frame which supports clamping cylinder drive means and the clamping cylinder when it is in a parked position in which it is retracted from the T-slot of the press. The main frame has rails which support the clamping cylinder T-head in the parked position and which are removable from the main frame so that the T-head can be dropped out of the bottom end of the main frame for removing the clamping cylinder from the travelling clamp unit.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 1996Date of Patent: December 9, 1997Assignee: Applied Power Inc.Inventors: Richard E.
