  • Patent number: 6562479
Abstract: A release agent for use in formation of a lignocellulosic composite product is provided. The release agent comprising at least one fatty acid. The release agent is capable of substantially preventing a mat comprising a lignocellulosic material and an adhesive bonding agent, formed within the confines of a formation area, from adhering to said formation area, when said release agent is introduced into said formation area. The release agent is also capable of substantially reducing deposits of either adhesive bonding agent or release agent which can accumulate in the formation area.

  • Patent number: 4032473
Abstract: Water-based defoamer compositions in the form of aqueous emulsions containing, as the disperse phase, about 25-55% of a water insoluble liquid hydrocarbon, about 25-55% of a normally solid fatty acid diamide, about 1.0-7.5% of hydrophobic silica particles, and about 8-16% of a non-ionic emulsifier having an HLB of about 8-12, the percentages being based on the weight of the disperse phase. Optionally, up to about 10% of the diamide may be replaced with a silicone oil. The compositions are useful for controlling foam in pulp and paper mill operations.
