A client interface is included in the device service and is configured to perform at least one of (a) publishing an event to a plurality of clients based on at least one of a status of the document processing device and the information and (b) providing an instruction to the document processing device based on a message from one of the plurality of clients. One or more application services are in selective communication with the device service and at least one of the clients.
