  • Patent number: 8460756
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a topographical pattern from polymer material on an endless strip with a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction extending perpendicularly thereto, in which method a cylindrical rotary screen is used to apply the polymer material by the screen printing process to a circumferential side of the endless strip to be printed, wherein, when producing the pattern, the rotary screen, rotating repeatedly about its longitudinal axis, rolls on the circumferential side of the endless strip, whereby the pattern is applied to the circumferential side in at least one path running at least once uninterruptedly around the circumferential side in such a way that the beginning and the end of each revolution of the path are arranged along a common straight line, wherein, when rolling, the rotary screen performs N revolutions about its longitudinal axis during each revolution of the path on the circumferential side of the endless strip and N is a positive integer.

  • Patent number: 8105004
Abstract: A composite metal male fastener is provided. The metal fastener includes an elongate hollow shell made of metal. The shell includes a threaded exterior for insertion or retraction from the threads of a female fastener. In addition, the shell element includes a central bore and a radially extending flange. The male fastener further includes a core element made of a composite material including plastic, fiberglass or carbon fiber or the like. In a first embodiment, the core element fills the shell's central bore and extends proximally from the proximal end of the shell to encapsulate the shell's flange to form a male fastener head. In an alternative embodiment, the shell's proximal extremity includes a radially extending flange to form a male fastener head for rotation of the male fastener. For this embodiment, the core element extends proximally to the shell's proximal end, without projecting beyond the shell's proximal end.

  • Patent number: 7195436
Abstract: An inset panel fastener anchors into honeycomb substrates employed in the aircraft industry. The inset panel fastener provides significantly increased load carrying capabilities with a simple inexpensive construction. The inset panel fastener includes a plastic casing and a central floating fastener element. The casing includes a body, disk and cap. The body is generally barrel shaped including a central chamber for holding the fastener element which is preferably a female fastener. The disk radially projects from the top of the body and includes a fill hole and vent hole. Meanwhile, the cap engages and covers the bottom of the barrel shaped body. The cap is affixed in place using a weld, such as a sonic weld.
