  • Patent number: 11911197
Abstract: Techniques are provided for x-ray sensing for intraoral tomography. A methodology implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes detecting an x-ray pulse based on energy received at one or more pixels of a pixel array. The method also includes integrating the energy received at each of the pixels of the array of pixels, in response to the detection, wherein the energy received at each of the pixels is associated with the x-ray pulse. The method further includes multiplexing readouts of analog signals from the array of pixels into two or more parallel channels. The method further includes simultaneously converting (or otherwise in parallel) the analog signals of each of the channels into digital signals and storing the digital signals in memory as frames of data. The method may further include, for example, transmitting the frames of data from the memory, over a Universal Serial Bus, to an imaging system.

  • Publication number: 20030122843
Abstract: A method and apparatus to obtain a substantially accurate digital color image of a subject at relatively low cost. A moveable enclosure containing a controlled lighting source provides a controlled lighting environment that costs considerably less than a traditional photo studio and is more convenient to use for many applications. A digital color image capture device captures an image of a subject in the enclosure. The captured image is sent to a computer where a stored color profile previously obtained from a calibration of the digital image capture device is used by a software program to automatically correct the color of the captured image. The color-corrected image can then be distributed to other computers for display.

  • Publication number: 20030066050
Abstract: A method and system for capturing a Finite State Machine (FSM) description of the desired behavior of a device, and converting that description into a program that is executable by the device. In the preferred embodiment, the device is a programmable robot toy. The user enters an FSM description of the desired behavior of the robot toy using a graphical user interface running on a personal computer. When requested, the preferred embodiment compiles the FSM description into a program executable by a virtual machine running on a micro-controller inside the robot toy. This program is sent to the toy via an infrared transmitter and infrared receiver, and stored in the toy's memory. Then, when the robot toy is used, the virtual machine executes the stored program so that the toy behaves as specified by the FSM description.

  • Publication number: 20020196882
Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission method capable of synchronously transferring information in many ways to simultaneously transfer data to plural receivers. In the transmission method of the present invention, a control menu and data to be transferred are first provided, and predetermined receivers are then selected. Next, an image capturing device is used to scan the control menu and the data to be transferred and convert them into an electric signal, which is then transferred to a computer server. The computer server discriminates the electric signal and converts it into an image signal. If the result of discrimination is successful, the image signal is transferred to an FTP server or a client computer so that the receivers can receive the image signal in predetermined ways of reception. The present invention has the characteristics of synchronous and manifold transmission, fast transmission, and convenient use.

  • Publication number: 20020120788
Abstract: A method and system may process messages in real time. The computer may analyze the received message in advance when receiving a message from the sender, which means the computer may determine whether or not the received message is the specific message which needs to be processed in real time. If the received message is specific, then, according to the setting reminding method, the system may utilize shaking of the mouse, sending out voice or light or displaying an image on the screen to remind the users. The users thus may respond to the message immediately, which may eliminate the delay of the important message.

  • Publication number: 20020110285
Abstract: A method and system for managing a digital image using online driving from a network are disclosed. A digital image is formed by a capturing device and then is stored in a first memory of the capturing device. Afterwards, a program media automatically diagnoses the capturing device and then installs a driver corresponding to the capturing device for online driving of the capturing device. The digital image in the first memory is uploaded to a second memory of the image server, and therefore the capacity of the first memory is completely released. Thereafter, the digital image is properly edited and is stored in the second memory to manage and distribute with respect to the digital image. Finally, a remote PC is linked to the image server via the Internet for selectively downloading the digital image saved in the secondary memory.

  • Patent number: 4814996
Abstract: For measuring the current cost of an appliance, current cost-measuring apparatus includes a line voltage unit, which plugs into an electric outlet and into which the appliance is plugged, and a remote light-weight portable cost-measuring unit. It is adapted to measure varying current utilization in a lower range or in a range eight times as great. A current transducer within the line voltage unit delivers both signals of both levels to the remote unit, which includes a high speed voltage-to-pulse converter, which has a somewhat limited straight line range of operation, and a low speed calculator unit. Their inconsistency is resolved by feeding the pulse output to a multi-stage binary divider at whose eleventh and fourteenth output stages are output taps. Since the division at the fourteenth stage is eight times that at the eleventh stage, selecting the higher divisor output compensates for selecting the higher level of signal of current used.
