  • Publication number: 20210166718
Abstract: A neural network is trained to digitally model a reference audio system. Training is carried out by repeatedly performing a set of operations. The set of operations includes predicting by the neural network, a model output based upon an input, where the output approximates an expected output of the reference audio system, and the prediction is carried out in the time domain. The set of operations also includes applying a perceptual loss function to the neural network based upon a determined psychoacoustic property, wherein the perceptual loss function is applied in the frequency domain. Moreover, the set of operations includes adjusting the neural network responsive to the output of the perceptual loss function. A neural model file is output that can be loaded to generate a virtualization of the reference audio system.

Abstract: System and methods are provided for warning a worker of a rail vehicle, or an operator of the rail vehicle of the worker. The system includes a worker device, a vehicle device, and a central server. The devices and server operate on one or a combination of actual or simulated satellite navigational signals, and beacon signals to determine the position of the devices, to generate a warning. The position determination may prioritize beacon signals over satellite navigation signals. The position determination may involve correcting a calculated position based on a measured power level of the beacon signal received from the beacon transmitter, an elapsed time since a previous beacon signal was last received by the device from the beacon transmitter, an elapsed time since a previous satellite navigation signal was received by the device, or an accuracy of the position of the device based on the satellite navigation signal.

  • Publication number: 20210147060
Abstract: A hypersonic aircraft includes one or more leading edge assemblies that are designed to cool the leading edge of certain portions of the hypersonic aircraft that are exposed to high thermal loads, such as extremely high temperatures and/or thermal gradients. Specifically, the leading edge assemblies may include an outer wall tapered to a leading edge or stagnation point. A coolant supply may be in fluid communication with at least one fluid passageway that passes through the outer wall to deliver a flow of cooling fluid, such as liquid metal, to the stagnation point. The liquid metal vaporizes when the leading edge experiences a high heat load, thereby transpiration cooling the leading edge and/or facilitating a magnetohydrodynamic process for generating thrust or electricity.

  • Publication number: 20210142912
Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed provide ways for Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to be involved in initial patient system set up so that the data received is truly transformative, such that the patient not just understands what all the various numbers mean but also how the data can be used. For example, in one implementation, a CGM device is configured for use by a HCP, and includes a housing and a circuit configured to receive a signal from a transmitter coupled to an indwelling glucose sensor. A calibration module converts the received signal into clinical units. A user interface is provided that is configured to display a measured glucose concentration in the clinical units. The user interface is further configured to receive input data about a patient level, where the input data about the patient level causes the device to operate in a mode appropriate to the patient level.
