  • Publication number: 20240129347
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing spreadsheet-formatted access to information stored within a hosted electronic notebook, in accordance with one or more implementations. Providing access to the hosted electronic notebook in a spreadsheet format may enhance usability for users who are more comfortable with a spreadsheet format, while still providing the features and functions of a stateful hosted electronic notebook. Providing access in the spreadsheet format may include presenting cell outputs of information cells within the hosted electronic notebook in an array with at least two dimensions. In other words, the information cells of the hosted electronic notebook may be organized and presented in the spreadsheet format to mimic at least some of the structure and function of a spreadsheet file that is stateful and hosted electronically.

  • Patent number: 10970353
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products for identifying original content. In one aspect a method is described that includes identifying a first document in a collection of documents. The first document contains a content piece and the content piece does not occur in any earlier document in the collection. The first document is associated with a first author and the first author associated with a first rank. The first rank of the first author is determined using a score of the content piece. The score is a figure of merit of the content piece.

  • Publication number: 20140365327
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a non-transitory computer storage medium, for providing reverse auctions for goods and services in real-time. In one aspect, a method includes storing profile information associated with a plurality of information sources, each source associated with a category. A request for information from a user including information associated with a good or service sought is analyzed to identify information sources as responsive to the request based on a comparison of the good or service sought and each information source's associated category. Responses are solicited from the identified information sources. In response, a set of responses from at least a subset of the identified information sources is received, which are then ranked based on a comparison of the particular response to the request for information, and at least a subset of which are presented to the user based on the ranking.

  • Patent number: 8838604
Abstract: A system identifies a set of documents from a corpus of documents that are relevant to a word, phrase or sentence and that were published at approximately a same time period, where each document of the set of documents includes news content and has an associated headline. The system extracts headlines from the set of documents and derives a score for each headline of the extracted headlines based on how many times selected words in each headline occurs among all of the extracted headlines.

  • Patent number: 8577401
Abstract: The subject matter of this document can be embodied in, among other things, a computer-method that includes receiving a text message associated with a first telephone number, and establishing a communication session associated with the received text message. The communication session is established by modifying the received text message so that the received text message is associated with a second telephone number that is different from the first telephone number, and subsequent text messages associated with the second telephone number are included as part of the communication session. The method also includes transmitting the text message to a text messaging system, such that the text message appears to have originated from the second telephone number. Upon receiving a text message reply from a user in response to the transmitted text message, the text message reply is associated with the established communication session.
