  • Publication number: 20150121680
Abstract: The invention relates to a tie and a method for tying at least one object. More particularly, the tie has a strip, which includes a tip, a connecting end opposite the tip and a plurality of teeth arranged on the strip between the tip and the connecting end, and a plurality of locking members, which are connected to the connecting end of the strip. Each of the locking members includes an opening for passage of the strip therethrough and a locking tab for engaging at least one of the teeth so as to allow the strip to move through the opening of a corresponding one of the locking members only in one direction.

  • Patent number: 7994651
Abstract: An apparatus converting the energy of waves on an open body of water includes a submerged articulated frame or frames formed of rods arranged largely in a parallelogram. The frame or frames are arranged so that as a wave passes the frames, the frames are distorted by having their rods rotate about connecting pivot points and so move toward and away (as well as relative to) from each other. This movement is then converted into energy. In alternate embodiments, multiple interconnected frames are provided, each pivoting in a respective plane.

  • Publication number: 20080300523
Abstract: A brace for a knee joint including an elongated member and pressure applicators disposed thereon. Each of the pressure applicators may be inserted into a corresponding, closeable pouch on an inner surface of the elongated member. The pouches are arranged on the inner surface to situate the respective pressure applicators in the spaces between the various ligaments, cartilage and bones of the knee joint, so as to prevent applying pressure directly to these tissues and the pain caused thereby. A user may choose to insert all, or some, of the pressure applicators in their respective pouches, depending on nature of the injury. A method using the knee brace to facilitate healing of a knee joint injury is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080296250
Abstract: A collapsible handgrip includes a center section and a plurality of elongated members projecting from the center section. Each of the elongated members has a first edge and a second edge opposite the first edge. Moreover, each of the elongated members is pivotable relative to the center section between a first position, in which it extends from the center section in a first direction, and a second position, in which it extends from the center section in a second direction, the first direction being generally opposite to the second direction. Each of the first edges of the elongated members is in a substantially aligned and abutting relationship relative to the second edge of an adjacent one of the elongated members when the elongated members are pivoted to their first positions so as to form a handgrip surface which extends substantially continuously across the elongated members.

  • Patent number: 6902494
Abstract: A practice device for use by golfers to practice golf swings includes a body having an opening. A ball-supporting surface is formed generally over the opening for supporting a golf ball thereon. The practice device also includes a supporting device spanning the opening for supporting the ball-supporting surface. The supporting device includes a plurality of plate members extending from the body into the opening and at least partially overlapping with each other such that at least a portion of the ball-supporting surface is deflectable in a generally downward direction so as to yield to a club head when the ball-supporting surface is struck by same. In this manner, the ball-supporting surface is adapted to absorb the impact created by the club head, while simulating the sensation of striking through a natural turf.
