  • Patent number: 9500127
Abstract: The power plant includes a gas turbine unit adapted to feed flue gases into a diverter where they are divided into a recirculated flow and a discharged flow. The recirculated flow is fed into a mixer together with fresh air to form a mixture that is fed to the gas turbine unit. The gas turbine unit includes a combustion chamber where a fuel is burnt together with the mixture. A control unit is provided, that is supplied with information regarding the fuel C2+ and/or H2 content and is connected to at least the diverter to drive it and online regulate the recirculated flow mass flow rate in relation to the fuel C2+ and/or H2 content.

  • Patent number: 9429079
Abstract: In a method for operating a gas turbine (10), a CO2-containing gas is compressed in a compressor (13), the compressed gas is used to burn a fuel in at least one subsequent combustion chamber (14, 18), and the hot combustion gases are used to drive at least one turbine (17, 21). Improved control and performance can be achieved by measuring the species concentration of the gas mixture flowing through the gas turbine (10) at several points within the gas turbine (10) by a distributed plurality of species concentration sensors (22; 22a-1; 23), and utilizing the measured concentration values to control the gas turbine (10) and/or optimize the combustion performance of the gas turbine (10).

  • Patent number: 8989986
Abstract: A method is provided for determining the approach of the lean blow off (LBO) of a gas turbine engine having at least one combustion chamber into which a fuel is supplied and burnt generating a flame. The method includes determining a value indicative of the gas temperature in recirculation areas adjacent to the flame, and identifying the lean blow off (LBO) approach on the basis of this value. A device for determining the approach of the lean blow off (LBO) is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8473228
Abstract: A method for detecting an anomaly in an induction machine includes obtaining or receiving a signal from the induction machine; processing the signal so as to obtain a low frequency signal, then rectifying the low frequency signal; and, declaring if the anomaly is present, based on the rectified low frequency signal. A system for detecting anomalies is also disclosed. The present invention has been described in terms of specific embodiment(s), and it is recognized that equivalents, alternatives, and modifications, aside from those expressly stated, are possible and within the scope of the appending claims.
