Patent number: 11436453Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using augmented reality to create a printing template. The method includes capturing, using a camera of a mobile electronic device, a real world image of a surface. The method further includes, by a processor, receiving the real world image, processing the real world image to isolate and measure a portion of the surface on which print job content is to be applied, creating a printing template conforming to a shape and area of the isolated and measured portion of the surface, causing the real world image to be output on a display, and causing the display to output the printing template over the real world image, overlaid over the isolated and measured portion of the surface.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2021Date of Patent: September 6, 2022Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: David Parsons, Andrew T. Martin, Shane Michael Jewitt, Ken Hayward, Dragana Pavlovic, Michael J. Martin, David C. Swift

Patent number: 11221579Abstract: A printer for producing a print media moving in a process direction including a print engine, a fuser, a full width array and a duplexing path. The print engine is operatively arranged to receive the print media and to apply a first dry marking material to a first surface of the print media. The fuser is arranged subsequently to the print engine in the process direction and is operatively arranged to receive the print media with the first dry marking material applied to the first surface of the print media and to fix the first dry marking material on the first surface using at least one of heat and pressure. The full width array is arranged subsequently to the fuser and is operatively arranged to obtain a first image of the first surface of the print media, the first image being used to quantify a flatness of the print media and/or image quality of the first image. The duplexing path is arranged subsequently to the full width array.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2018Date of Patent: January 11, 2022Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Eliud Robles Flores, James A. Patent number: 8228525Abstract: A method of digital printing in which each of the page images of a print job with a large number of sequential pages to be printed is classified as to the job or document type. Upon occurrence of a fault in printing, upon fault clearance and resumption of printing, only those pages having the same classification as the pages involved in the fault are reprinted in sequence from the fault.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2007Date of Patent: July 24, 2012Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Amy Moormann Zaremski, Dragana Pavlovic, Bradford Freeman

Publication number: 20100260527Abstract: Multi-colorant and monochromatic digital image print lines are connected to operate sequentially from a single sheet feeder in a first mode and switchable to operate independently from separate feeders in a second mode. The print lines may include sets of monochromatic and multi-colorant marking engines.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2009Publication date: October 14, 2010Applicant: XEROX CORPORATIONInventors: Marc W. Webster, Dragana Pavlovic, Michael P. Kirby, Amy M. Zaremski, Neil Dempsey

Patent number: 7218876Abstract: Programming of the input and output paper handling setup of a high speed reprographic system can adversely affect the throughput of the system. A method or system includes a control system that examines the proposed setup and then determine if any of these options results in a loss of throughput. If such losses are detected and exceed a predetermined threshold, the operator of the device will be informed and given the opportunity to change the setup to reduce the throughput loss.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2005Date of Patent: May 15, 2007Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Anthony M. Federico, Dragana Pavlovic, John H. Conley

Patent number: 5715379Abstract: A digital printing system includes a plurality of decomposers which operate simultaneously and independently. Each decomposer outputs page images of decomposed data at essentially random times. The page images from the decomposers are retained in a buffer until requested by a marker which controls the printer hardware. A buffer manager records where in the buffer each page image is stored, and a stream handle is assigned to every set of page images intended to form a multi-page document. When the marker requests a particular set of page images for printing, the marker invokes a stream handle. The buffer manager, receiving the stream handle, retrieves the necessary page images from recorded locations in the buffer.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1995Date of Patent: February 3, 1998Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Dragana Pavlovic, David Plakosh, Michael A. Patent number: 5412483Abstract: A method of printing a job to produce a set of prints in a printing system with a print file, the print file being divided into a first buffer and a second buffer where the print file communicates with a marker. The marker employs a set of a first type of print-related information and a set of a second type of print-related information for producing the set of prints. The method includes the step of filling the first buffer with a first portion of the set of the first type of print-related information and the second buffer with the a first portion of the set of the second type of print-related information. The method further includes the step of reading, with the marker, the first portion of the set of the first type of print-related information from the first buffer and the first portion of the set of the second type of print-related information from the second buffer.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1993Date of Patent: May 2, 1995Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: M.
