Abstract: A method and system for sending and receiving binary bit stream in a composite video signal, such as a NTSC signal. The binary bit stream is modulated according to quadrature amplitude modulation, converted to analog and translated to an intermediate frequency relative to the composite video signal and the associated sync pulses, and combined with the composite video signal. At reception of a composite video signal that includes the modulated bit stream, the sync pulses of the composite video signal are determined by extracting the composite video signal from the modulated bit stream. Also, the modulated bit stream is extracted from the composite video signal, separated into its component parts based on the sync pulses, and combined into a binary bit stream.
