  • Patent number: 11805365
Abstract: An electroacoustic diaphragm comprises a membrane, and an electrically conductive circuit carried by the membrane, such that a segment of the electrically conductive circuit is divided into two or more separate subcircuits. An electroacoustic transducer assembly comprises a frame, the novel diaphragm supported on the frame, and a magnetic element disposed adjacent the novel diaphragm whereby the transducer achieves uniform force distribution across the novel diaphragm. An audio device comprises a housing having an acoustic opening and the electroacoustic transducer including the novel diaphragm. Methods for constructing a transducer comprises determining the flux density of a magnetic field and configuring a diaphragm with separate subcircuits to correlate or inversely correlate to the flux density.

  • Publication number: 20230147707
Abstract: Devices, methods, and systems are described for an anti-feedback audio device (100) comprising a dipole speaker (110) having an acoustically null sound plane (115) or acoustically null sound area (117), a first microphone (120) disposed substantially within the acoustically null sound plane (115) or acoustically null sound area (117), and a neural network (130) communicatively coupled to the dipole speaker and the first microphone (120) such that a first output from the first microphone is communicated to the neural network (130) for processing, and a second output from the neural network (130) is communicated to the dipole speaker (110). The combination of the dipole phase cancellation and the neural network gives an unexpected result of an extremely high signal-to-noise ratio for speech over noise.

  • Publication number: 20160093429
Abstract: An array of paired bar magnets (200) provides a reinforced magnetic field (203) on a first side and a nearly canceled magnetic field (204) on a second side of each pair. The array may be a planar array (600) with a plurality of parallel, coplanar pairs (620). The array may provide air gaps between consecutive pairs, and within individual pairs, to provide improved transparency to sound. The array may be doubled (700), with the reinforced fields (713) of one half of the array opposing the reinforced fields (723) of the other half to produce a more intense field (730). In another configuration, the array may be doubled (800) with the nearly canceled fields of one pair facing the nearly canceled fields of the other, producing an array with reinforced fields (801-804) on four sides.

  • Patent number: 9258638
Abstract: An anti-diffraction plate for including in a planar magnetic transducer. The anti-diffraction plate includes anti-diffraction structures for positioning adjacent to magnets of the planar magnetic transducer. By introducing a shape over top surface of the magnets, the anti-diffraction structures cause the elimination of diffraction patterns as a main audio wavefront passes by the magnets from a diaphragm. A diffusion structure for diffusing reflected sound waves, the diffusion structures reducing or eliminating the power and capacity of the reflected sound waves to create interference patterns with oncoming sound waves.
