Abstract: An automated case erector for erecting a one-piece insulating container and a method of automated case erecting are provided. The automated erector includes a case blank feeder for sequentially feeding a series of flat case blanks onto a conveyor, an insulation securing station for securing insulating members to the case blank, and a case erecting assembly for forming the combination of case blanks and insulating members secured thereto into a fully erected, three-dimensional container by simultaneously folding the combination of case blanks and insulating members.

Abstract: A one-piece insulating container is provided. The container is formed from a container template that includes a generally flat case blank and an insulation template secured to the case blank. The case blank and insulation template may be folded simultaneously to form the three-dimensional container. The insulation template is designed to cushion and insulate an interior volume defined by the formed case blank. When folding, the insulation template conforms to the shape of the folded case blank. The case blank and insulation template may thus be manipulated in tandem to provide a completely enclosed space that is insulated on all sides. The dimensions of the case blank and insulation template may be adjusted to establish containers of varying sizes and dimensions.

Abstract: A one-piece cushioning and insulating container and insulation template for forming the container are provided. The insulation template includes a case blank and an insulating member secured thereto. The template may be formed into a three-dimensional container that provides cushioning and insulating items contained inside the container by simultaneously folding the case blank and insulating member. The template is designed to provide a completely enclosed space that is cushioned and insulated on all sides. The dimensions of the template may be adjusted to create containers of varying dimensions. The container may be constructed of various materials with a layer of soft, flexible material secured therein. The template may have heating or cooling elements, including phase change materials, incorporated into insulating member.
