  • Patent number: 7510095
Abstract: A system includes a container including a sidewall and a closure plane attached to the side wall and including an opening, a neck region on the sidewall being adjacent to the closure plane. The system also includes a closure including a cap closure with a fitment adapted to fit in the opening, a circumferentially depending outer skirt adapted to secure the closure to the neck region of the container, and a hinge attached to the cap closure and the circumferentially depending outer skirt. A method for sealing a closure on a container includes pivoting the closure about a hinge towards a closure plane and engaging a fitment with an opening to provide a friction fit. A method for opening a container having a closure includes disengaging a fitment from an opening and pivoting the closure about a hinge away from a closure plane.

  • Patent number: 5080222
Abstract: A safety box having a cover slidably receiving a tray. Vertical and horizontal rails are provided on the interior of the sidewalls of the cover which cooperate with laterally extending lugs on the sidewalls of the tray to preclude movement of the tray relative to the cover unless the cover is bowed by utilizing a vertical force to it to flare the vertical rails away from the lugs, enabling the tray to slide relative to the cover without interference of the lugs with the vertical rails. The horizontal rails contact the lugs and retard sliding movement of the tray relative to the cover when the box is opened to keep the tray and cover assembled. Lateral flanges are also provided on the cover for frictional engagement with the bottom of a track on the tray to impede flexing of the cover unless a substantial force is applied to the cover.

  • Patent number: 4999961
Abstract: The upper and lower ends of a hollow plastic corner post for a corner structure are each closed off with a device molded of a cuttable plastic whether or not the corner structure continues past the end of the post. The device includes a base having along the sides of one corner risers adapted to be received within the hollow plastic corner post. The other corner is marked with lines indicating distances from the edge near the ridge parallel to the lines. The distances from the outer edges of the corner post to interfering corner structure are measured, and material beyond the lines indicating these distances are cut from the base to form an indented corner. The trimmed device is then seated on the end of the corner post and fastened in position. The device for an end terminating flush with the surface of the structure may need no trimming.
