  • Patent number: 10327057
Abstract: A headset in accordance with an embodiment of the present technology includes a headpiece, an earpiece, an arm extending therebetween, and a cord extending through the arm. The arm includes elongate first and second segments through which the arm is operably connected to the earpiece and the headpiece, respectively. The first and second segments have a telescoping arrangement such that the arm is movable between a lengthened state and a shortened state. The arm further includes a hinge operable to rotate the arm about an axis and thereby move the arm relative to the headpiece between a folded state and an unfolded state. Increased slack in the cord preferentially gathers within an interior region of the second segment when the arm moves from the lengthened state toward the shortened state and when the arm moves from the folded state toward the unfolded state.

  • Publication number: 20180020277
Abstract: A wearable audio device in accordance with a particular embodiment of the present technology includes an earpiece, a speaker, an antenna, and processing circuitry. The earpiece includes a housing within which the speaker and the processing circuitry are disposed. The antenna conformably extends along a perimeter portion of the housing. The processing circuitry is configured to receive audio content from an audio player via the antenna. The processing circuitry is also configured to generate sound corresponding to the audio content via the speaker. The antenna is exposed and is not a loop antenna. The audio device also includes a circuit board supporting at least some of the processing circuitry within the housing. The audio content travels from the antenna to the circuit board without travelling through any flexible wires.

  • Publication number: 20170041697
Abstract: A headset in accordance with an embodiment of the present technology includes a headpiece, an earpiece, a yoke rotatably connected to the earpiece, and an arm extending between the yoke and the headpiece. The yoke at least partially defines a channel including a constriction at which a transverse cross-sectional area of the channel is non-circular. The arm includes a foot at least partially disposed within the channel. The foot is shaped to move through the constriction or be blocked from moving through the constriction depending on a rotational position of the arm relative to the yoke. The headset further includes a plug at least partially disposed within the channel. The plug restricts rotation of the arm relative to the yoke and thereby prevents movement of the foot out of the channel and corresponding separation of the arm from the yoke.
