  • Publication number: 20230300066
Abstract: The disclosed method and system increase routing efficiency by identifying a set of candidate Autonomous Systems (ASes) able to reduce average AS distances towards a set of target ASes. Starting from a list of Routing Information Base (RIB) snapshots and a set of target ASes, candidate ASes are ranked based on the gain they would provide in terms of AS distance if they were connected to the network administrator AS. A set of starting ASes may represent the ASes to which the administrator is already connected, and a set of forbidden ASes may represent the ASes to which the administrator does not want to connect. An exemplary web-based interface may show gains of candidate ASes, allowing the administrator to better understand how much an average AS distance toward the set of target ASes would improve.

  • Patent number: 8306857
Abstract: A system for selecting and delivering content items includes a primary system and a secondary system. Each system includes a server and a datastore of content items that is accessible by the server. The primary system receives a request for a content item, selects an appropriate content item from the primary datastore, and sends a query containing information regarding the selected content item to the secondary system. The secondary system receives the query, searches the secondary datastore, and determines whether to deliver the content item contained in the query, another content item, a default content item, or a pass-back to the requester.

  • Publication number: 20080082599
Abstract: A system and method for serving ads. According to an embodiment, an ad server receives over a network an ad request issued by an application engine on a user computer, the ad request issued by the application engine in connection with processing a content source file specifying in a format required by the application engine how the application engine is to provide a display of content and subsequent to the application engine configuring a security setting of the application engine to allow the ad server to serve one or more ads into the content display, and providing an ad source file over the network to the user computer in response to the ad request, the ad source file specifying in the required application engine format how the application engine is to provide a display of an ad.
