  • Patent number: 9734579
Abstract: Methods and systems for rendering a three-dimensional (3D) data model of an object are provided. An example method may include receiving information associated with a first 3D data model and a second 3D data model of an object. The method may also include rendering a first set of images of the first 3D data model, and rendering a second set of images of the second 3D data model. The method may also include comparing respective images of the first set of images to images of the second set of images to determine a plurality of image difference scores between the respective images of the first set of images and the images of the second set of images. The method may also include determining an object difference score based on the determined plurality of image difference scores.

  • Patent number: 9665989
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for aligning objects are provided. A computing device can receive first and second object representations that are respectively associated with first and second surface representations. The computing device can apply an object transformation to the respective first and second object representations to modify geometric features of the respective first and second object representations based on one or more values of one or more characteristics of the respective first and second surface representation. The computing device can align the first object representation and the second object representation using an alignment of the transformed first object representation and the transformed second object representation. The computing device can provide an output based on the aligned first object representation and second object representation.

  • Patent number: 9224238
Abstract: Methods and systems for texturing of three-dimensional (3D) object data models are provided. An example method may include receiving information indicating a geometry of an object receiving a plurality of images of the object. The method may also include assigning images of the plurality of images that have a resolution above a threshold to a plurality of polygons that approximate the geometric surface of the object. The method may also include determining adjacent polygons that are assigned to different images of the plurality of images so as to identify boundaries of images and minimizing such boundaries. The method may also include determining a mismatch factor for boundaries of the modified boundaries of images and reassigning images in boundaries having a mismatch factor above a threshold so as to reduce a gradient variation between the images in the modified boundaries.

  • Publication number: 20030174877
Abstract: A method for the inspection of electrical circuit patterns including carrying out an initial inspection of a sequentially acquired image of an electrical circuit pattern to determine potential defects in the electrical circuit pattern; upon identifying a potential defect in the electrical circuit pattern in the course of the initial inspection, interrupting the initial inspection and carrying out a secondary evaluation of a portion of the sequentially acquired image including the potential defect; and following completion of the secondary inspection, resuming the initial inspection.

  • Patent number: 6275613
Abstract: A method and system for recognizing an object in an image. A model of the sought object is transformed according to a set of preselected transformations to produce a set of transformed models, each transformed model including a plurality of transformed model pixels. A hash table is constructed, each entry of the hash table corresponding to an image pixel that in turn corresponds to a transformed model pixel of at least one of the transformed models, each entry of the hash table including a list of all the transformed models that include that transformed model pixel. The feature pixels of the image are determined, and are augmented by a distance transformation to provide a set of relevant pixels. Each relevant pixel that appears in the hash table contributes a score to the corresponding transformed models. For each transformed model, the sums of the scores provides a tally.

  • Patent number: 6210168
Abstract: A method and system for simulating, on a B-mode ultrasound simulator, a D-mode and C-mode Doppler ultrasound examination. Velocity and sound data describing blood flow at selected locations within blood vessels of a patient are gathered during an actual Doppler ultrasound examination. The gathered data are processed off-line to generate sets of flow velocity and sound values which describe blood flow at selected locations in a virtual B-mode frame buffer, and are stored in memory. Doppler simulation at a designated location on a the B-mode image generated from the virtual frame buffer is achieved by performing bilinear interpolation, at the time of simulation, from the data stored in memory, so as to determine flow velocity and sound values for all designated virtual frame buffer voxels.

  • Patent number: 5956418
Abstract: A method for mosaicing medical images, particularly volumes acquired by a 3D ultrasound device. The method relies on an image-based technique that transforms a target volume to align with a reference volume. The transformation is composed of a coarse rigid transformation and a fine elastic warp. The fine transformation assumes that the two volumes are close enough for the mapping between them to be expressed in terms of their gradient values.

  • Patent number: 5609485
Abstract: The medical reproduction system is a computer-based interactive reproduction system device designed to be used by physicians and technicians in medical training and diagnosis using medical systems such as ultrasound machines. Biological data is collected from a living body and stored in memory. An operator manipulates a simulated sensor over a transmitter which may be attached to a simulated body. The transmitter transmits position data to a receiver in the sensor. The reproduction unit processes the preset biological data and displays data corresponding to the position of the sensor with respect to the transmitter.
