  • Publication number: 20230405871
Abstract: Disclosed are concrete curing blankets having two or more channels. The channels extend longitudinally and are formed by fluid-tight seals, where all of the layers of the blanket are bonded together. The concrete curing blankets are placed over poured and curing concrete to maintain high water content in the concrete during curing and to accelerate the concrete curing and hardening processes.

  • Patent number: 9896382
Abstract: Disclosed is a structure of a matrix, reinforced with a plurality of polymeric fibers protruding from at least a portion of the structure surface, the fibers being capable of endowing (attributing) the at least a portion of the surfacewith biological or chemical resistance. In some embodiments, the polymeric fibers, as further discussed hereinbelow, contain or are coated with at least one biological or chemical agent which further contributes to the endowment of biological or chemical resistance.

  • Publication number: 20110100185
Abstract: System for cutting multifilament strand into a plurality of pieces of filaments of the same given length includes a tension compensator (TC) and a cutter provided with flow directors. The TC having a surface across which a segment of said MFS is winded provides for retaining this segment of FMS at a predefined tension level. The flow directors provide for controlling the direction in which the cut pieces of filaments flow off the cutter. Additionally, methods for controlling the level of tension along a segment of the MFS and for controlling the direction in which the cut pieces of filaments flow off the cutter are provided as well.

  • Patent number: 6001476
Abstract: A method for upgrading existing nylon fibers comprising the steps of (a) impregnating the existing nylon fibers with a chemical for obtaining impregnated nylon fibers; (b) drawing the impregnated nylon fibers for obtaining drawn nylon fibers; and (c) drying the drawn nylon fibers for obtaining upgraded nylon fibers. An upgraded nylon fiber, derived from an existing nylon fiber by the method. A nylon fiber reinforced hardened cementitious composite comprising a hardened cementitious matrix, the cementitious matrix including staples of textile or non-textile (technical) upgraded nylon fibers. In both cases the fibers are preferably upgraded using the method. A method for manufacturing a nylon fiber reinforced hardened cementitious composite. The method comprising the steps of (a) preparing a mix including a cementitious material, staples of upgraded nylon fibers and/or textile nylon fibers and an activating material (e.g.

  • Patent number: 5698321
Abstract: An acrylic-covered spandex yarn, a method for producing the same, and textiles and garments made from the same. Specially modified acrylic yarn is substituted for nylon yarn in a conventional process for making nylon-covered spandex. Surprisingly, the process parameters are substantially the same as for nylon yarn, despite the inferior flex fatigue resistance and abrasion resistance of the acrylic yarn compared to those of the nylon yarn.

  • Patent number: 4721650
Abstract: A polyamide (preferably nylon 66) partially oriented feed yarn contains a small amount of branching agent and has an elongation between 45 and 150%. The feed yarn can be textured by the friction twist process to yield a textured yarn having crimp development similar to yarn textured by the much more expensive pin twist method.
