For this operation, the apparatus includes a turntable for supporting the display, turntable driving mechanism for rotating the turntable throughout a predetermined angle, a position meter for outputting a voltage corresponding to the rotation angle of the turntable, an optical sensor for detecting the incident direction of a remote control optical signal, and a controller for controlling the turntable driving mechanism by determining the amount and direction of rotation of the turntable in accordance with the outputs of the optical sensor and position meter.
