  • Patent number: 7478603
Abstract: A detector is supported adjacent the seed cells within a seed meter housing and provides an indication of the presence or absence of seeds in the cells. A processor receives the seed presence indications and provides an operator readout to facilitate adjustments to the seed meter system to maintain a single seed per seed cell at the given seed population. In one embodiment, the detector is a video camera and the readout includes a slow motion rendering of the seed cells downstream of a seed singulator. In another embodiment, a light source is located on one side of the seed cells, and a light detector is located on the opposite side of the seed cell to determine presence or absence of material in the cell.

  • Publication number: 20070075092
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing the contents of a collapsible tube, such as a toothpaste tube. The apparatus includes a housing having side walls and an end wall with an opening therein, and a cover pivotally attached to the housing adjacent the end wall. The cover has a closed position relative to the housing and provides access to the cavity when in an open position. A squeezing device is slidably received in the cavity of the housing and includes a threaded surface facing the cover and a pair of opposing surfaces that define a through-slot that increases in width toward the housing end wall. A rod is rotatably mounted to the cover and equipped with an external thread that engages the threaded surface of the squeezing device when the cover is in the closed position and disengages the threaded surface feature when the cover is in the open position. By rotating the rod, the squeezing device can be caused to move along the rod and through the internal cavity toward and away from the end wall of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6860398
Abstract: Low permeation fittings and low permeation plastic containers using same are constructed by molding an outer component into the wall of a plastic container while it is being formed. This causes the opening of a passageway in the outer component to be covered with wall forming material. The inner component is then inserted into the outer component through the wall forming material thereby trapping the wall material between the internal and external components. The barrier layer of the container wall is therefore continuous from the container to inside the fitting. A new fuel container, fuel neck fitting, and flange for mounting components on a fuel tank are disclosed.
