  • Patent number: 6507312
Abstract: A process for evaluating the radar pattern of a phased array antenna subsystem by utilizing transmissions from a global positioning satellite. This process utilizes a delayed radar target on a moving platform, a remote differential global positioning receiver on the moving platform, a fixed global positioning receiver on the phased array antenna, and a communication data link between the remote global positioning receiver and the fixed global positioning receiver.

Date of Patent: January 14, 2003
    Assignee: Fredwal, Inc.
Inventors: Duane G. Fredericks, Herbert W. Rosebrock, James N. Devlin
  • Patent number: 6492939
Abstract: A radar target with delayed reply means. The radar target contains devices for: (a) receiving a radar signal which has a frequency of from about 0.5 to about 94 gigahertz, (b) phase coherently amplitude modulating a continuous wave light emission with the radar signal with the frequency of from about 1 to about 94 gigahertz, (c) delaying an amplitude modulated light pulse for at least about one radar pulse width, (d) detecting the delayed modulated amplitude modulated light pulse, (e) converting a detected amplitude modulated light pulse into a converted radio frequency pulse, (f) modulating the converted radio frequency pulse, thereby producing a delayed modulated radio frequency pulse, and (g) transmitting the delayed modulated radio frequency pulse.

  • Patent number: 5351054
Abstract: An apparatus for producing an electromagnetic signal which simulates the radar signature of a vertical takeoff and landing vehicle is disclosed. The apparatus contains a means for receiving a radar signal, modulation means for modifying the radar signal, means for dividing the modulated signal into at least a first divided signal and a second divided signal, means for producing a Doppler composite signal, means for mixing the composite Doppler signal with the first divided signal, means for attenuating the second divided signal, and means for combining the attenuated second divided signal and the composite Doppler signal.

  • Patent number: 5164734
Abstract: An active radar target device is disclosed. This device contains a means receiving a radar signal, a means for decreasing the frequency of the radar signal received, at least one means for delaying the reduced frequency radar signal, means for increasing the frequency of the delayed signal, and means of modulating the delayed signal. The modulated and delayed signal is transmitted to an antenna, from which it may be radiated to a radar detector.
