  • Patent number: 6845398
Abstract: A wireless device, system and method for receiving and playing multimedia files streamed from a multimedia server over a wireless telecommunications network. A desired multimedia file is selected from one or more multimedia files stored in the multimedia server, which server is operatively connected to the wireless telecommunications network. Successive blocks of data from the desired multimedia file are streamed over the wireless telecommunications network in a digitized and compressed format and received by the wireless telecommunications device. The received blocks of data from the streamed multimedia file are temporarily stored in a buffer in the wireless device, decoded and decompressed, and successively played through an audio and/or video output in the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 5511115
Abstract: At a station apparatus, a programmable button is programmed in response to a first button depression occurring during the display of an incoming caller identification number (CID), the CID number being stored in a memory location associated with the programmable button. This programmable button enables a called party, who may be busy on another call, to store the CID number being displayed at his/her station set under the programmable button. Thereafter, when the user completes the present call he/she may go off-hook and press the programmed button to repertory dial the CID number stored under the programmed button. At a station terminal having a speakerphone, an on-hook user may press the programmed button to go off-hook, at the speakerphone, and dial the CID number stored under the programmed button. Virtual buttons, which are activated by predetermined combinations of touch-tone pad operations (e.g., #1, #2 etc.

  • Patent number: 4697264
Abstract: A bit compression multiplexer for a pair of time division multiplexed digital bit streams each one of which includes a plurality of PCM encoded signals deposited in separate and distinct channels and signaling bits multiplexed therewith. The encoded signals are bit compressed (22), and then multiplexed and grouped (25) into clusters. Each of the multiplexed compressed signals occupies a separate and distinct channel of a repetitive frame that includes a plurality of clusters and a corresponding number of additional channels, called delta channels, each one of which is associated with a given cluster and is proximate thereto. The signaling bits are extracted (21) from the pair of digital bit streams, reformatted (24) and then placed in predetermined bit positions of the delta channels. The signaling bits in a given delta channel are associated with the compressed signals of a cluster proximate thereto. The combination of a cluster and its related delta channel comprise a bundle.

  • Patent number: 4665545
Abstract: A communication system includes station sets having one or more function enable buttons and a plurality of line access buttons. The function enable buttons include the extension, transfer and send message buttons. Each line select button is associated with a communication line and with the station set associated with that line. Operation of a function enable button initiates the feature associated with that button and also changes the function of a line select button from a line access button to an auto-dial select button for dialing the station associated with the line select button.
