Patent number: 8992156Abstract: A conveyor is arranged to be mounted underneath a hopper bottom highway transportation truck which has two longitudinally spaced dump hoppers each with a bottom discharge opening to carry the discharged material to the side of the trailer from each of the hoppers in turn. The conveyor is thus carried between the bottom discharge openings so that it can be raised up between them during transport. From the mounting point at one side between the openings the conveyor is lowered so that its loading end is lowered and then the conveyor pivots to one side or the other so that its loading end is underneath the selected bottom discharge opening. The conveyor runs in a direction so that it lifts the material from the selected discharge opening upwardly to the mounting point at the one side for discharge to the side.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2013Date of Patent: March 31, 2015Assignee: Haukaas Manufacturing LimitedInventors: Greg Haukaas, Beric Duane Haukaas, Vincent Colistro

Patent number: 6945182Abstract: A midrow levelling attachment for a seeder includes a set of leveller gangs each of which is mounted on a respective one of the packer wheel gangs of the seeder by a pair of mounting members one at each end of the common shaft of the leveller gang. The levelling roller gang is arranged such that each roller has the peripheral surface thereof located at a position aligned with a location on the ground between a respective pair of the shanks of the seeder and each roller is located rearwardly of the respective pair of shanks and in front of the packer wheels for engaging the ground between the furrows formed by the furrow forming element of the respective pair of shanks. The peripheral surface of each levelling roller is shaped with an apex and two inclined sides such that as the peripheral surface rolls over the ground between the furrows it tends to push the soil back into the furrows.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2004Date of Patent: September 20, 2005Assignee: Haukaas Manufacturing LimitedInventors: Duane Haukaas, Greg Haukaas

Patent number: 6840729Abstract: A trailer for transporting round bales has two bale support cradles one on each side and pivotal about an axis along the side between a first lifting position in which the cradle extends outwardly and a second transport position in which the cradle is located on the support area for transport on the frame. Each cradle has bale support rails carried on polygonal axially spaced rings defining a cylindrical chamber so that a bale can be lifted by rails on each side from the ground rotated onto the frame for transport and rotated back to its initial position with its flat spot back on the ground. A backstop member can be moved from a first position closing the rear end to allow the bales to be discharged from the rear end by forward movement of the trailer.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2003Date of Patent: January 11, 2005Assignee: Haukaas Manufacturing LimitedInventor: Duane Haukaas

Publication number: 20030057055Abstract: A transport conveyor particularly for grain in piles on the ground has a trailer mounted on ground wheels for towing by a tractor in a direction of travel. The trailer can be driven forward while the tractor remains stationary either by a hydraulic cylinder on an extendible hitch or by a drive at the ground wheels which moves the trailer while the hitch and the tractor remain stationary. An auger tube is carried on the trailer by a support post which allows the auger tube to swivel about a vertical axis from a longitudinally extending transport position to an operating position in which the tube extends generally transversely of the direction of travel with a feed end of the tube projecting outwardly beyond one side of the trailer, with a discharge end projecting outwardly beyond the opposite side of the vehicle and with the discharge end raised for discharge into a transport truck on that side. The tube can also pivot about a horizontal axis at the post allowing the feed end to float up and down.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2002Publication date: March 27, 2003Inventors: Duane Haukaas, Greg Haukaas

The tube can also pivot about a horizontal axis at the post allowing the feed end to float up and down. At the feed end is provided a pick-up or scoop shaped hopper for picking up grain from a grain pile on the ground as the trailer is pulled forwardly. The pick-up hopper can be removed and replaced by a conventional hopper for other uses.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2001Publication date: December 12, 2002Applicant: Greg Haukaas & Rhonda HaukaasInventors: Duane Haukaas, Greg Haukaas

Patent number: 5027525Abstract: An improved field marker is provided which can be used on an agricultural implement of the type which includes wing folding. The field marker has an arm with a disk mounted on an outer end of the arm and a mounting system at the inner end of the arm for supporting the arm on the implement. The arm includes two portions which fold in a knee type action while the inner portion is folded through 90.degree. so that both portions lie along the side of the implement. The mounting assembly includes a fixed portion attached to the implement and a pivotal portion which moves about a horizontal axis. A spring biases the arm towards a raised position. In the extended position of the arm the spring force is overcome and the disk rests on the ground. As the arm retracts to the folded position and the effective weight decreases the spring forces lift the arm.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1989Date of Patent: July 2, 1991Inventor: Duane Haukaas

Patent number: 4913241Abstract: A rod weeder attachment including a clamp arrangement for mounting upon a tool bar of an agricultural implement, an arm which extends rearwardly from the clamp and is spring biased downwardly toward the ground, a ground wheel mounted upon the rear end of the arm which is a peripheral surface for running upon the ground and for defining the height of the arm above the ground, a pair of shanks which extend downwardly from the arm, a rod support on a lower end of the shanks in bearings which allow rotation of the rod about its axis and a drive arrangement which communicates drive from the ground wheel to the rod to rotate the rod as it moves through the ground. The arm is formed in two parts a rear part of which carries the ground wheel and is freely pivotal. The free pivot action of the rear part allows the ground wheel to move forwardly when inoperative so that its periphery is below the level of the rod.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1989Date of Patent: April 3, 1990Inventor: Duane Haukaas
