The second connecting member has an L-shaped slot therein for axial receipt of the stud and rotated locking engagement with the stud. The spring is interposed between the first connecting member and the second connecting member. The spring is configured to axially urge apart the first connecting member and the second connecting member when provided in rotated locking engagement therebetween. One of the first connecting member and the second connecting member includes a tapering surface. Another of the first connecting member and the second connecting member includes a mating contact surface configured to mate in engagement with the tapering surface to tighten engagement between the first connecting member and the second connecting member as the first connecting member and the second connecting member are urged apart by the spring.

The apparatus includes a body having a fishing line eyelet, a propulsion mechanism supported by the body, a steering mechanism supported by the body, and a waterfowl grappling mechanism supported by the body and configured to couple with a floating waterfowl carcass when engaged with the grappling mechanism via navigable movement of the body about a body of water. A method for retrieving waterfowl carcasses from a body of water is also provided.

Abstract: A counter-balancing apparatus for a fishing pole handle is provided. The apparatus includes one or more weight members configured to be received by a handle assembly of the fishing pole. The handle assembly includes at least one handle portion, wherein the handle portion is configured to removably receive the one or more weight members to cause a transfer of a center-of-mass of the fishing pole between different positions. The one or more weight members and the handle portion may have equal radii so that, upon assembly, the one or more weight members appear to be integrally formed with the handle portion. Other configurations are possible. A method is also provided.

One of the first and second retaining members is provided on the handle assembly, and another of the first and second retaining members is provided on the rod. The first retaining member includes one or more longitudinal engagement grooves along a length of the first retaining member and a lateral guide surface extending between each groove and a respective slot, and one or more retention slots. The second retaining member includes one or more projecting fingers disposed about a periphery of the second retaining member.
