  • Publication number: 20070129698
Abstract: An absorbent article includes a liquid intake region, a liquid retention region, a barrier region, and plural strips of microlayer material located adjacent to the liquid retention region.

  • Publication number: 20070049888
Abstract: An absorbent core comprises a multi-microlayer film having a plurality of coextruded microlayers that can perform the multiple functions of acquisition, retention and distribution of fluids. The multi-microlayer films may be formed in a coextrusion process. Each microlayer is manufactured from either a high-recovery polymer or a low-recovery polymer and may be in a substantially alternating configuration within the film. A disruptive force, such as a stretching force, can be applied to at least one portion of the multi-microlayer film to partially delaminate the low-recovery microlayer from the high-recovery microlayer to form corrugations in that portion. The multi-microlayer film can be apertured and additives may be included in either polymer layer.

  • Publication number: 20050148730
Abstract: A blended composition of unsaturated block copolymer with improved thermal stability and processing behavior includes at least one unsaturated block copolymer; and a compatibilizer selected from the group consisting of (1) high melt flow rate homopolymers or copolymers; (2) styrene-ethylenepropylene-styrene (SEPS); (3) ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA); (4) styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS), or styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) block copolymers; (5) single site catalyzed polyolefins, such as metallocene catalyzed and constrained geometry polyolefins; (6) amorphous poly alpha olefin homopolymer and copolymers; and (7) a combination of such.

  • Publication number: 20050124952
Abstract: Composite outer covers (30) suitable for incorporation into disposable absorbent articles. Composite outer covers (30) include an extensible outer cover material (32) and a non-tensioned elastic (34). The composite outer covers (30) are adapted to attain three-dimensional (3-D) configurations upon activation.

  • Publication number: 20050049566
Abstract: An absorbent article for absorbing body liquids, comprising a unitary system of microlayered film constructed and arranged to carry out the multiple functions of liquid intake, liquid uptake and distribution, liquid retention and liquid barrier requisite for such an absorbent article. The unitary system comprises a series of sequentially arranged topside, inside and bottom side regions having different properties needed to perform the functions of the absorbent article.
