Abstract: An apparatus for the in viva acquisition of fluid samples from birds, fish, whales, and other mammals. The apparatus may also be used with equal proficiency for injecting fluids such as anesthetics, into the bird, mammal or other creature. When used in either manner, the apparatus is fully automatic. Once it is affixed to the animal, fluid samples can be taken or fluids injected while the animal freely moves about in its natural habitat at remote locations from the researcher.
