  • Publication number: 20230260154
Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems, methods and computer readable media for parking monitoring in an urban area by image processing operations. Embodiments perform parking monitoring by capturing images of an urban area, comparing captured images with reference images to determine location and parking conditions. Embodiments processes captured images to detect licence plates, vehicles or parking signs to determine compliance of vehicles with parking conditions.

  • Patent number: 10465716
Abstract: A gas turbine engine shroud for surrounding one of a rotor and a stator having a plurality of radially extending airfoils is provided. The shroud includes an annular body defining an axial and a radial direction. The body has a radially inner surface and a plurality of indentations is annularly defined therein. Each of the plurality of indentations has a depth of an order of magnitude of a clearance between the one of the rotor and the stator and the inner surface. The plurality of indentations is defined in a region of the inner face defined axially between projections of leading and trailing edges of the airfoils onto the inner surface of the annular body.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 14, 2014
Date of Patent: November 5, 2019
Assignee: PRATT & WHITNEY CANADA CORP.
Inventors: Huu Duc Vo, Mert Cevik, Engin Erler
  • Patent number: 10378551
Abstract: A compressor is described which includes a non-axial first rotor, and a second rotor disposed immediately downstream from the first rotor and being co-axial therewith about a longitudinal axis of rotation. The second rotor rotates in a direction opposite the non-axial first rotor to discharge fluid flow into an uninterrupted passage between an outlet of the second rotor and one of a downstream combustor or a further compression stage. The uninterrupted passage is free of a diffusing passage. A gas turbine engine including such a compressor and a method of compressing fluid flow is also described.

  • Patent number: 9042685
Abstract: This invention concerns real-time multi-impairment signal performance monitoring. In particular it concerns an optical device, for instance a monolithic integrated photonics chip, comprising a waveguide having an input region to receive a signal for characterization, and a narrow band CW laser signal. A non-linear waveguide region to mix the two received signals. More than one output region, each equipped with bandpass filters that extract respective discrete frequency bands of the RF spectrum of the mixed signals. And, also comprising (slow) power detectors to output the extracted discrete frequency banded signals.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 20, 2011
Date of Patent: May 26, 2015
    Assignee: The University of Sydney
Inventors: Trung Duc Vo, William Peter Corcoran, Mark David Pelusi, David James Moss, Benjamin John Eggleton, Jochen Bernhard Schroeder
