  • Patent number: 10963665
Abstract: A method of setting light sources in a display panel for optical fingerprint recognition is provided. The method includes driving a portion of light sources disposed to correspond to a fingerprint recognition window which is a partial region of a display panel based on initial light source setting values, obtaining initial calibration data based on reflected light of an object received by a fingerprint recognition sensor through the fingerprint recognition window while driving the portion of the light sources; and determining final light source setting values such that powers for driving light sources of different colors among the portion of the light sources are different, the final light source setting values being determined to minimize contrast of an interference signal included in the initial calibration data.

  • Patent number: 8708958
Abstract: A self-contained and hand-held power-assisted syringe is provided which is suitable for the controlled injection of fluid material during medical procedures such as coronary angiography procedures which utilize small-bore and small sized guide catheter systems. The present invention provides a greater degree of injection power on-demand than was previously possible in a portable and hand-held syringe; and it can deliver larger volumes of radiopaque contrast medium at greater pressures than was previously possible using a conventional manual syringe. The power assisted syringe, along with all components necessary for its effective use and operation, may be pre-packaged and steriled within a single container and then disposed of after use.

  • Patent number: 7560227
Abstract: The present invention provides compositions suitable for use as biomarkers of vulnerable plaques as well as methods for the use of such compositions. In preferred embodiments, specific molecular imaging agents are provided that permit the selective identification of vulnerable plaques in coronary and other arteries using non-invasive imaging methods. Such specific molecular imaging agents comprise a binding partner linked to a detectable label that can be used in vivo to visualize vulnerable plaques. In certain preferred embodiments, the binding partner is a peptide that binds selectively to a component of a vulnerable plaque. In other preferred embodiments, the binding partner is an antibody that binds selectively to a component of a vulnerable plaque. In other preferred embodiments, the binding partner is a portion of a polypeptide displayed by a bacteriophage that binds selectively to a component of a vulnerable plaque.

  • Patent number: 7387636
Abstract: The present invention provides catheter apparatus and catheterization methodology for generating an arteriovenous fistula or a veno-venous fistula on-demand between closely associated blood vessels and at a chosen anatomic site in-vivo. The catheter apparatus is preferably employed in pairs, each catheter of the pair being suitable for percutaneous introduction into and extension through a blood vessel. The catheterization methodology employs the catheter apparatus preferably in conjunction with conventional radiological techniques in order to place, verify, and confirm a proper alignment, orientation, and positioning for the catheters in-vivo prior to activating the perforation means for generating a fistula.

  • Publication number: 20040153112
Abstract: The present invention provides devices, systems, assemblies, and methods intended for the introduction and sutureless juncture of a prepared communication channel to the interior spatial volume of a blood vessel or a hollow organ within a living subject. The introducer assembly and system is functional and suitable as a complete substitute and replacement for conventionally used apparatus and methods for performing vascular bypass graft surgery in order to overcome an obstruction in a major artery or vein in-vivo. The introducer assembly and system is also most appropriate for use in providing penetration and juncture of a tubular conduit for use as an access duct in order to drain materials from or introduce fluids into the interior spatial volume of a hollow organ in-vivo.
