Abstract: Provided is methods and device for providing a communication service. The method according to an embodiment includes generating a logical channel for communication between an electronic component included in a terminal and a local profile assistant (LPA) that is another electronic component in the terminal, generating a secure channel between the electronic component and the LPA when a secure area of the electronic device is selected by the LPA, and receiving profile data for providing the communication service from the LPA through the generated secure channel. An electronic device includes a processor configured to generate a logical channel for communication between one electronic component included in a terminal and a LPA that is another electronic component in the terminal, generate a secure channel between the electronic component and the LPA when a secure area of the electronic device is selected by the LPA, and receive profile data from the LPA.

Abstract: Provided are a communication method and system that integrate 5G communication systems with IoT technologies to support higher data rates after 4G systems. The present disclosure is based on 5G communication technologies and IoT related technologies, and may be applied to intelligent services (e.g. smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart or connected cars, health care, digital education, retail, and security and safety). There is provided a method of profile downloading for a terminal. The method may include: transmitting a first profile download request to a profile providing server; receiving unencrypted first profile information from the profile providing server; checking whether there is an input for consenting to profile downloading after receiving unencrypted profile information; and determining whether to download an encrypted profile on the basis of the check result. There is also provided a terminal capable of performing the above method.

Abstract: The present invention may provide a method for downloading a profile by an electronic device and the electronic device performing the same, the method comprising: transmitting, to a routing server, profile download request-related information including profile server indication information; transmitting, to the routing server, a profile download request message including profile download identification information; and receiving a profile from the routing server, wherein the profile download request message is transmitted to a profile server, which provides a profile of the electronic device, via the routing server on the basis of the profile server indication information. Further, the present invention may provide a routing server which operates with the electronic device and an operation method of the routing server.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for safely providing a profile to a terminal in a communication system are provided. The apparatus and method include a communication technique that combines a fifth generation (5G) communication system for supporting a data rate that is higher than that of a beyond fourth generation (4G) system with Internet of technology (IoT) technology, and a system thereof. The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on 5G communication technology and IoT related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail, security and safety related services.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method to install a terminal profile in a wireless communication system, and the method may comprise the steps of: displaying a list including one or more mobile network providers; detecting a selection with respect to any one of the one or more mobile network providers; obtaining connection-related information with respect to the selected mobile network provider from a discovery server based on information related to the selected mobile network provider; and transmitting identification information of a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) and identification information of the discovery server to a server of the selected mobile network provider based on the connection-related information, in order to download a UICC-related profile from a profile administrator. However, the present invention is not limited to this embodiment and other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: A method, performed by a user equipment (UE), of controlling a profile is provided. The method includes receiving a remote profile management command regarding a target profile from a profile server, determining whether an enabled profile exists, verifying whether profile owner information of the target profile corresponds to profile owner information or sub-owner information of the enabled profile, based a result of the determination, and selectively executing the remote profile management command based on a result of the verification.
