  • Publication number: 20220096166
Abstract: Systems and methods may be used to perform robot-aided surgery. A system may include a robotic controller to monitor a position and orientation of an end effector coupled to an end of a robotic arm. The robotic controller may apply a force to a bone using the end effector, such as via a soft tissue balancing component. The robotic controller may determine soft tissue balance using information from a tracking system, such as a position of a first tracker affixed to the bone. The soft tissue balance may be output, such as to a display device.

  • Publication number: 20200335222
Abstract: Systems and methods may be used for presenting motion feedback for an orthopedic patient. In an example, images may be captured of a patient in motion attempting to perform a task, for example after completion of an orthopedic surgery on the patient. The images may be analyzed to generate a movement metric of the patient corresponding to the task. The movement metric may be compared to a baseline metric (e.g., an average metric or a previous patient metric) for the task. An indication of the comparison may be presented, for example including a qualitative result of the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20070014649
Abstract: A fixation device for fixing a first member in a position relative to a second member includes a shaft having a head and a longitudinal axis, a first screw portion rotatable about the axis, and a second screw portion rotatable about the axis independently of the first screw portion. Each of the first and second screw portions has an external screw thread in a first thread direction and is configured to engage a bore formed in the first and second members. The fixation device is particularly useful in joining broken bones.
