Abstract: Disclosed herein is a mobile communication terminal having a function of animating input characters. The mobile communication terminal includes memory, device hardware, a device Operation System (OS), an animation engine, and content. The memory stores character font image data and animation data capable of providing the animation effect of animating characters. The device hardware receives key input from a user and informs the device OS of input characters. The device OS transfers information about the received characters to the animation engine. The animation engine analyzes the content and extracts information about the locations of images from the content. The content creates frame variation information, indicating the variations of various objects on the screen as to implement the animation effects, and transfers the frame variation information to the animation engine.
