  • Patent number: 8436951
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) car monitor frame structure without blocking a driver's rear vision includes a roof mount fixed to a car ceiling, a LCD monitor, and at least one connecting member connecting the LCD monitor to the roof mount. An unobstructed space is formed between the roof mount and the LCD monitor when the LCD monitor is rotated out and pulled down to a pre-determined position for utilization by passengers. The unobstructed space accords with the view angle of the rearview mirror of a car. The rear vision of a driver will not be blocked while rear seat passengers watch the LCD monitor.

  • Publication number: 20090096941
Abstract: An automotive display includes a base, a plurality of connecting rods and a screen. The base is fixed on a top surface within a car body. The connecting rods are pivotally connected to both sides of the base, so that these connecting rods can rotate with respect to the base. Furthermore, one surface of each connecting rod is recessed to form an accommodating groove. One side of each accommodating groove is provided with a rack. The upper ends on both sides of the screen are provided with a fixing mount respectively. A pivotal shaft protrudes outwards from each fixing mount. Each pivotal shaft is inserted through a gear. Each gear is accommodated in the accommodating groove and engaged with the rack, thereby driving the screen to move up and down. Via the arrangement of gears and racks, the location of the screen can be adjusted freely, thereby avoiding the field of view in driving from being obstructed and thus guaranteeing the safety in driving.

  • Patent number: 7122987
Abstract: A safety garage door apparatus includes a garage door, two tracks, a controller, a linking device and a detecting device. Two tracks are installed on two sides of the garage door, respectively. The controller includes a motor, a driving device connected to the motor, and a microprocessor. The linking device includes a rail, a rack slidably mounted in the rail, and a linkage with one end connected to the rack and the other end connected to the garage door. The rack is connected with the driving device. The detecting device is mounted in the controller to continually detect a location of the rack so that a moving speed of the rack is determined by the microprocessor to compare with a predetermined rate to determined whether an operation of opening or closing the garage door needs to be stopped or reversed, or a maintenance of the garage door apparatus is needed.

  • Publication number: 20060071155
Abstract: A safety device of a garage door includes a light guiding mirror disposed on a location adjacent to each of four corners of the garage door. A transmitter and a receiver are installed in a garage door control mechanism. Through the surrounding light guiding mirrors, the light emitted from the transmitter is reflected in a number of times by the light guiding mirrors and to be received by the receiver so that a light traveling path constructs an extensive sensing network to make the control mechanism capable of responding immediately when the garage door is closing and subject to blockage to stop closing action and return to open state. Therefore, the safety is improved when people, cars or objects are moving in and out of a garage.

  • Publication number: 20050184695
Abstract: The invention provides a garage door that can have enhanced preventive safety measures and equipment to accommodate precise and timely maintenance. It is mainly to add into the garage door control mechanism a transceiver that uses electromagnetic waves in the form of laser, infrared, or supersonic wave as distance-measuring and transmission medium, which is directly reflected to the transceiver through a moving roller. In this way, the distance between the moving roller and the garage door can be measured. The roller speed can be pre-determined, so it equals to the garage door speed. Besides, the preset roller speed can be compared to the actual roller speed. This comparison ratio is used as a precise reference to determine whether the closing garage door hits an obstacle or carry out preventive safety maintenance. Thus, accidents can be prevented when the garage door is closing. The invention provides enhanced preventive safety measures and equipment to accommodate precise and timely maintenance.

  • Publication number: 20050151066
Abstract: The present invention provides a safety device for garage door. It is mainly to install a light guiding mirror at each of the four corners on the inner side of a garage door. Besides, a transmitter and a receiver for laser beam and infrared beam are installed in the garage door control mechanism. Through the surrounding light guiding mirrors, the beam irradiated from the transmitter in the door control mechanism returns to the receiver as a continuous horizontal line crossing itself in a number of times. The path that the beam travels constructs an extensive sensing network. When a garage door is closing and subject to blockage, such a sensing network can respond immediately by commanding the garage door control mechanism to stop closing action and return to open state. The invention is a safety device that can improve the safety when people, cars or objects are moving in and out of a garage.
