  • Patent number: 4850471
Abstract: A conveyor system for delivering work pieces to a predetermined area comprising a first conveyor, a second conveyor disposed at an angle to the first conveyor, a mechanical brain, and a transfer apparatus (arm) at the juncture of the first and second conveyors. The mechanical brain has a shim, a rotating disk and sliding plates on the disc that are temporarily moveable to form a protrusion that rotates with the disc. The disc rotates at a speed that is a function of the speed of the first conveyor and the protrusion activates a device to create a light path transverse to the first conveyor near the first and secured conveyor juncture just prior to a workpiece entering such juncture. The protrusion is returned to its normal state, subsequent to the creation of the light path, by the coaction of the rotating disk and the shim.

  • Patent number: 4765122
Abstract: A conveyor system having first second and third stations and a return conveyor in communication with and linking the first and third stations: The first station has a device to selectively feed pallets, one at a time, from the return conveyor to a position underneath an unpackaged work piece disposed on the first station portion of the conveyor system and help position the pallet with the work piece on top of it on to another part of the first station portion of the conveyor system, which conveys the pallet and the work piece to the second station where packaging of the workpiece is carried out, for example, shrinking a plastic sheet about the work piece. Another part of the conveyor system conveys the packaged work piece to the third station where a device removes the pallet from the packaged work piece, places the packaged work piece on another part of the third station portion of the conveyor and places the pallet on the return conveyor for return to the first station.

  • Patent number: 4697857
Abstract: A feeder bin having spaced-apart, opposing side walls delimiting a cavity. Disposed in the cavity is a first guide attached to one of the sidewalls delimiting a first guide space and a second guide attached to opposing side wall delimiting a second guide space. Also included are first and second elongated flexible members, a portion of the first elongated flexible member disposed in the first guide space and the second elongated flexible elongated member disposed in the second guide space. Disposed beneath the flexible elongated members are continuous chains having upper and lower portions, the upper portion are affixed to the first terminal portion of the first elongated flexible member and the lower portions are attached to a first terminal portion of the second elongated flexible member; and, a transverse member attached to the second terminal portions of the first and second elongated flexible members.

  • Patent number: 4238977
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved bandsaw grinder comprising the combination of an improved means for supporting at least a portion of a bandsaw blade in the vertical position as the teeth of the bandsaw blade are being ground, means to intermittently advance the bandsaw blade to position it for grinding, a reciprocating grinding means adapted to reciprocate into and out of contact with each sawblade tooth of the bandsaw blade as it is advanced into a grinding position. The improved means is composed of first, second and third rotatable pulley means each having a circumferential groove in their respective outer periphery, which are spaced apart one from another and lie in a common plane in a triangular configuration, said first and second pulley means being disposed respectively above and below the advancing and grinding means and the third pulley means has a plurality of grooves in its outer periphery.

  • Patent number: 4166556
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically boarding, stripping and stacking hosiery. Interiorly heated boarding forms are mounted on a table for indexing from a loading station at which an operator places hosiery on the forms to a stripping station at which the forms are presented in sets, with spaced clamps engaging the hosiery on the forms of the set at the stripping station and removing them longitudinally of the forms. The clamps are mounted on a carrier that moves on a carriage with the carriage moving laterally of the forms to move the clamps into clamping position and the carrier moving in tracks on the carriage to move the clamps vertically for stripping the hosiery longitudinally from the forms and then to a horizontal position at which the clamps dispose the hosiery in laid out disposition above a stacking table for release onto a collection board. The forms are spaced apart a distance equivalent to the width of the hosiery with the hosiery deposited on the stacking table at this spacing.

  • Patent number: 4023446
Abstract: According to this invention, two band saw grinder units are constructed in paired relationship, spaced apart, and arranged to receive two band saw bands suspended from overhead supports which will permit the bands to move up and down for the grinding operation instead of horizontal as in the prior art. The grinder units are controlled and powered from a central mechanism located in the area between the units, while the bands are supported in an area outward from the area occupied by the central control mechanism, avoiding conflicting occupancy of the various parts. Novel construction and improved means for adjusting the linkage required for accurate grinding of one or two blades at a time are outstanding features of the invention.
