  • Patent number: 11275392
Abstract: A gas pressure regulator comprises a high pressure inlet and a regulator mechanism which is arranged to receive high pressure gas via the high pressure inlet, and deliver gas at a regulated pressure to a regulated pressure outlet. The regulator comprises a regulator element and a rotatable member that rotates to move the regulator element, thereby adjusting the regulated pressure. A gauge arranged to receive high pressure gas and display a measured reading of the pressure of the high pressure gas is also provided along with a regulated pressure indicator which is arranged to display a regulated pressure value related to the degree of rotation of the rotary mechanism. The regulator mechanism has a gear chain between the rotatable member and the indicator so that it requires multiple rotations of the rotatable member to move the regulator element through its full range of movement.

  • Patent number: 9581250
Abstract: A valve for a pressurized fluid cylinder. The valve comprises a shut off valve biased against a seat to seal the cylinder. An actuation element is movable linearly to open the valve against the biasing force. A linkage element couples the actuation element to the shut off valve and comprises a first piston towards its top and a second piston towards its bottom. The valve also comprises a gas refill inlet between the pistons such that refill gas pressure biases the linkage element away from the valve. The actuation element is a depressed position pushes against the linkage element to hold the linkage element down and the valve open so that the cylinder can be refilled. When the actuation element is in a non-depressed position, the linkage element is free to move with the refill gas pressure so that it is spaced from the valve.

  • Publication number: 20160153616
Abstract: A pressurised fluid cylinder having a shut-off valve, with a linearly moveable valve element. A lever is coupled to a rotatable shaft to cause linear movement of a valve stem thereby lifting the valve element. A frangible element couples the lever to the valve stem. The frangible element is arranged to fail when subjected to a load above a predetermined threshold about the axis of rotation of the shaft in a direction tending to open the valve so that, when the frangible element fails, the lever cannot transmit a force to the valve stem.

  • Publication number: 20160116116
Abstract: A pressurised fluid cylinder (1) having a shut-off valve, comprising a valve element (6) on a valve stem which is linearly movable. A biasing member (15) exerts a biasing force on the valve element and a crank moves the valve stem. The crank comprises a first linkage (37) pivotally attached at one end to the valve stem and a second linkage (50) pivotally attached at one end to the second end of the first linkage and being positionally fixed but rotatable about the opposite end. Rotation of the first linkage (37) in a first rotational direction initially causes biasing of the biasing member and further rotation of the second linkage causes the linkage to pass a top or bottom dead centre position, at which point a proportion of the energy stored in the biasing member during its biasing causes the first linkage to be biased further in the first rotational direction alter the top or bottom dead centre position.

  • Publication number: 20160091144
Abstract: A pressurised fluid cylinder having a shut-off valve with a linearly moveable valve comprising a valve element. A lever is coupled to the valve element via an eccentric coupling so dial rotation of the lever causes linear motion of the valve element. A resilient member acts between the valve element and the eccentric coupling so as to urge these apart.

  • Publication number: 20160084443
Abstract: A pressurised fluid container having a shut off valve within a valve body. The valve body contains at least one high pressure seal to seal the region around the valve. The valve body is configured such that any leakage past the or each high pressure seal enters an internal gas path which routes any fluid leakage past the or each high pressure seal to one or more discrete ports in the valve body.
