  • Publication number: 20240181451
Abstract: A microfluidic system is described comprising a plurality of fluidly connected microfluidic chambers, each microfluidic chamber comprising: a fluid sample inlet; a fluid sample outlet; a selectably closable valve operable to enable gas to be vented from the chamber; a pressurisation system operable to apply an overpressure to one or more first microfluidic chambers being fluidly most upstream. A method is also described comprising supplying a fluid sample to the system via the one or more first microfluidic chambers being fluidly most upstream; operating the pressurisation system to apply an overpressure to the one or more first microfluidic chambers; selectively operating the valves of the fluidly connected microfluidic chambers to cause the fluid sample to move successively between the microfluidic chambers.

  • Publication number: 20200077560
Abstract: A distinct cultivar of Leucadendron female plant named “Platinum Cup”, characterized by its production of long stems with pubescent silver leaves and 8 cm silver cup shaped flower heads. The silvery appearance of the cultivar makes it distinct from all other Leucadendrons of similar species, shape and form.

  • Publication number: 20160220853
Abstract: A compact respiratory protective device fitted with a mouthpiece or mouthpiece assembly that retracts, pivots or rotates into the depth of the device to reduce size when packed. This reduction in size also permits the depth of the downstream air channel to be increased while still producing a compact device. This increase in the depth of the downstream air channel maximizes the efficiency and capacity of the filter assembly and reduces the inhalation resistance of the device. The reduced breathing resistance enhances usability.

  • Publication number: 20100209931
Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions useful for identification of potential therapeutic agents for the treatment of a disorder associated with RAS deregulation or dysregulation. The compositions may be a yeast cell having one or more mutations in an IRA gene or an ERG gene. Also disclosed are methods of using these compositions.

  • Publication number: 20060080733
Abstract: A method, apparatus, system, and signal-bearing medium that, in an embodiment, filter packets received from a network based on rules. The filtering discards a subset of the packets based on the rules and keeps a remaining subset of the packets. The remaining subset is copied to a destination. The rules are created offline in a lower priority process from the filtering and copying by detecting whether symptoms exist in a sample of the remaining subset. In an embodiment, the order that the symptoms are detected is changed based on the frequency of the existence of the symptoms in the sample. In various embodiments, the symptoms may include receiving a threshold number of ping packets within a time period, receiving a threshold number of broadcast packets within a time period, receiving a packet with an invalid source address, receiving a packet with an invalid header flag, and receiving a threshold number of the packets within a time period that contain a sequence flag.

  • Publication number: 20050194941
Abstract: A single-pole type generator with low loss magnetic core is excited by a field coil that is part of a low loss series resonant circuit tuned to a desired AC power frequency, which may be frequencies such as 50 Hz or 60 Hz or 400 Hz. The series resonant circuit is excited at the resonant frequency. The resulting resonant behavior of the excitation circuit automatically provides the high driving voltages and sinusoidal energy storage patterns needed to efficiently modulate the magnetic field at the desired power frequency. This modulation of the excitation field is amplified by mechanical power from a rotating shaft and modulates the output current and voltage of a single phase output circuit of the single-pole type generator at that power frequency in a sinusoidal pattern thus delivering alternating current power without any requirement for further electronic rectification, commutation or processing.
