  • Patent number: 11803533
Abstract: Updating multiple data records in a database system with at least one database and a first server comprises creating a first session and loading, within the first session, the multiple data records stored by the database into a memory of the first server. Update at least a first and a second of the multiple data records during the first session in the memory of the first server. A database transaction mechanism writes back the multiple data records after updating the at least first and second data records to the database which insures that either all or none of the updated database records are committed. The database transaction mechanism includes a write lock over the first and second data records stored in the database.

  • Patent number: 8218886
Abstract: Systems and media for transitioning compression levels of a streaming image system include a machine-accessible medium of a storage device containing instructions for transitioning compression levels between image frames in a streaming image system. Embodiments may include receiving client information from a client of an interactive streaming image system, generating a new image frame based on the received information, determining an initial compression level, comparing the new image frame to a previous frame to determine whether content changed, performing a smoothing heuristic by generating a multi-frame smoothing routine by increasing image quality in response to no change of content and decreasing image quality in response to a change in content, setting the new compression level based on the multi-frame smoothing routine, and encoding and transmitting the new image frame and compression level to a client.

  • Patent number: 7616821
Abstract: Methods for transitioning compression levels of a streaming image system are disclosed. One embodiment provides a method for transitioning compression levels between image frames in a streaming image system. Embodiments may include receiving by a smoothing module a request for a new compression level associated with an image frame. Embodiments may also generally include performing by the smoothing module a smoothing heuristic by generating a multi-frame smoothing routine based on an initial compression level, a target compression level, and a number of frames to achieve the target compression level. Embodiments may also include setting by the smoothing module the new compression level for the image frame based on the generated multi-frame smoothing routine. Further embodiments may include transmitting by the smoothing module an indication of the new compression level to a content encoder.

  • Publication number: 20050114476
Abstract: Methods, system and computer program product are provided to configure a path between nodes through a fabric in a fibre channel storage area network (SAN). A node name is provided for a target node on the SAN and a port name is provided for each port in the target node. A relationship is established in a data structure between each port name and a slot in which each port is physically located in the target node. Prior to configuring a path between a source node and a port in the target node, the ports which are physically connected and logged in to the fabric are identified by port address. The port names corresponding to the port addresses are then identified. The port names are used to generate interface_ids of the ports corresponding to the physical slots in which the ports are located. A data structure is created to maintain the relationship between interface_ids and port names.

  • Patent number: 6003588
Abstract: A process for inserting cores into a casting mold includes inserting a plurality of individual cores into a template; forming a core group by joining together the plurality of individual cores within the template using a bracing and securing device which is detachable; dipping the core group into a founder's black bath to provide a coated core group; drying the coated core group; inserting the core group after drying into the casting mold; and removing the bracing and securing device. The process advantageously additionally includes providing a plurality of core groups that form a core assembly for a casting mold; forming a core set by joining together the plurality of core groups using a bracing and securing device; dipping the core set into a founder's black bath to provide a coated core set; drying the coated core set; inserting the core set after drying into the casting mold; and removing the bracing and securing device.
