Abstract: A method for enhancing the capability grabbing peer device functionality in Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is disclosed. The method includes associating a session originating from a first terminal (101) to a second terminal (102) with a session originating from the first terminal to third terminal (103) using a Session Initiation Protocol REFER operation (205). The Call-ID header of the first session and the ‘cgpd’ feature tag may be used in the REFER message to associate the first session Invite Delta with the third session. Session Description Protocol (SDP) is used for conveying media to be transferred synchronously to the third terminal.

Abstract: A method of forwarding a call based on media attributes of the call in a telecommunications network is disclosed. The call forwarding services includes call forwarding based on SDP attributes, media-based partial call forwarding and partial call forwarding to multiple destinations. The method comprises comparing parameters of SDP with call forwarding parameter of the user, obtaining a match between one of the SDP parameters and the call forwarding parameters, sending a REFER message in case of partial call forwarding, multiple REFER messages in case of partial call forwarding to multiple destinations to network of calling user, and forwarding the call to other terminals as specified in the call forwarding parameters. The call forwarding based on media attributes enables a served user to forward communications based on media attributes conveyed over SDP for an IMS/SIP user.

Abstract: A method for enabling exchange of dynamic charging information between a calling user and a called user and negotiation of said charging information, wherein the calling user belongs to a public switched telephone network/public land mobile network (PSTN/PLMN) network and the called user belongs to an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)/Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)/Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network. In another embodiment herein, the calling user belongs to an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)/Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)/Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network and the called user belongs to a public switched telephone network/public land mobile network (PSTN/PLMN) network.

Abstract: A system and method of providing charging information to the participants for a session is disclosed. User A initiates a session to user B, by sending an invitation message. The message contains an application body. A first method talks about basic charging framework involving network level manipulation and second method being an offer answer model for charging. In network level manipulation, the user A sends an invitation message to proxy server which modifies the application body of the message before sending the message to user B. In offer answer model for charging, user A initiates an offer for charging, which is sent to user B and means of negotiation is involved between both. Means of negotiation allows implementing different charging schemes, and User B or User B's network can also initiate the charging offer.
