  • Publication number: 20130043195
Abstract: A mobile water recovery system and methods of recycling water from slurry produced by pavement grinding machines. The system includes a platform having a plurality of wheels, a slurry storage tank or a slurry settling tank, a centrifuge in flow communication with the slurry storage tank or slurry settling tank, such as a hydraulic centrifuge, a solids storage component, and a cleaned water storage tank in flow communication with the centrifuge. The system may also include an acidifier which may be located within the cleaned water storage tank. The acidifier may bubble engine exhaust through the cleaned water or may dispense a pH adjusting agent into the clean water storage tank.

  • Patent number: 6499809
Abstract: A pavement grinding apparatus includes a cutting device with a frame supporting the cutting device from above. Transversely extending parallel shafts have an offset connection imparting cyclical up and down motion to the cutting carriage and rotating arbor. A first motor drives the arbor while a second motor drives cutting carriage wheels and the support shafts. The carriage and arbor move backward relative to the grinding apparatus during the cutting motion.

  • Patent number: 5354146
Abstract: A pavement grinder for grinding and grooving pavement surfaces has a grinding carriage with a rotating arbor supporting a number of radial blades. The arbor is directly coupled to shafts of hydraulic motors with an adapter between the arbor shaft and the motor shaft and includes an oil reservoir. Debris from grinding is removed by a removal system using suction. Suction bars extend behind and to the sides of the arbor and a shroud is positioned in front of the arbor. The debris is suctioned to a separation tank which directs the debris downward away from the vacuum force. Gravity and the downward momentum of the debris is greater than the vacuum force, so the debris is separated from the air flow. The debris is directed to the bottom of the tank and enters a slurry which is pumped for disposal.
