Abstract: An endoscope comprises a handpiece housing, an elongate flexible shaft extending from the handpiece housing, a pull wire extending from the handpiece housing into the elongate flexible shaft, and a tensioning mechanism configured to adjust tension in the pull wire. A method for adjusting tension in a pull wire of a controller for an endoscope comprises preparing an endoscope for use before a procedure, adjusting tension in a pull wire for deflecting a flexible elongate shaft of the endoscope to reduce knob dwell, and performing an endoscopic procedure with the endoscope.

Abstract: An articulating medical device including handle and an articulating elongate member extending from the handle. The handle is a housing which includes at least one rotatable member, defining an arcuate track extending for a partial rotation about a center axis of rotation, at least one clamp captured, translatable, and rotatable within the arcuate track, and at least one articulation cable, fastened to the at least one clamp and extending outward from the handle, toward the articulating elongate member, including extending, when under tension, along a first lateral periphery of the at least one rotatable member and within a channel formed in the rotatable member. The at least one clamp translates within the arcuate track to accommodate slack in the at least one articulation cable when the at least one articulation cable is not under tension.

Abstract: An articulating medical device with a handle and an articulating elongate member extending from the handle. The handle has a cavity with at least one first rotatable member. The first rotatable member has a first lever arm and a first termination coupling. Coupled to the termination coupling is at least one first articulation cable. The first lever arm is arranged to limit displacement of slack in the at least one first articulation cable when the at least one first articulation cable is not under tension.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide techniques for configuring a natural-language processing system to perform a new function given at least one sample invocation of the function. The training data consisting of the sample invocation may be augmented by determining which subset of available training data most closely resembles the sample invocation and/or function. The effect of re-training a component this this augmented training data may be determined, and an annotator may review any annotations corresponding to the invocation if the effect is large.

Abstract: An endoscope can include an elongated shaft that includes a distal tip and a displaceable distal region. The endoscope can further include a handle coupled to the elongated shaft and an actuator movable relative to the handle. The endoscope can further include at least one tensioning line extending through at least a proximal portion of the elongated shaft and through a portion of the handle, and the at least one tensioning line can be coupled to the displaceable distal region of the shaft and also can be coupled to the actuator such that movement of the actuator relative to the handle effects angular movement of the displaceable distal region. The endoscope can further include a locking mechanism that prevents angular movement of the displaceable distal region when the locking mechanism is engaged.

All system components can be stored within the salon chair for transportation to the client's location. The workstation provides tool storage for necessary hair grooming tools. The shampoo bowl is supported by a removable stand. The shampoo bowl has a drain and tubing so that used water can be captured. A clean water bladder is provided to store clean water. A submersible pump installed within the clean water bladder delivers water to the shampoo bowl. Used water from the drain in the shampoo bowl is stored within a second bladder. The clean water bladder is placed within the volume of the used water bladder.

The accessory also includes a headphone jack that is inserted into a headphone jack inlet of a cell phone to connect the musical cell phone accessory to the cell phone, a display screen that is disposed on the planar base and a battery pack that is built into the planar base to provide electrical power to the accessory. The accessory can also include an additional battery pack that is attached to the cell phone utilizing the musical cell phone accessory.

A clean water bladder is attached with the container and has a pump, hose, and spray head to allow a user to pump water from the clean water bladder, through the hose and spray head, and to be spread into the shampoo bowl. Finally, a dirty water bladder is connected with a drain of the shampoo bowl to collect water passing through the shampoo bowl.

Abstract: The base of the micrometer is made of steel (1). The base of the micrometer is attached to three rubber micrometer feet (2). The rubber micrometer feet help reduce vibrations which lead to accurate test sample measurements. Recessed in the base of the micrometer is the bottom anvil (3). Directly above the bottom anvil is the top anvil (4), which is screwed into the plunger (5). The plunger has a set screw which holds the steel shaft (6) to the plunger in order for the plunger and steel shaft to work as one unit. The steel shaft fits up inside of the brass bushing (7) which results in a tight tolerance. The micrometer frame (8) is the unit that holds all the components together. The brass bushing is pressed into the micrometer frame. The base of the micrometer is screwed to the frame with four screws. The micrometer frame stop (9) is screwed to the top of the micrometer frame with four screws.
