  • Publication number: 20250042209
Abstract: An amphibious vehicle that can be operated in a variety of conditions and terrain, including on land and in water, includes a high visibility cab portion, a chassis, and prime mover. The amphibious vehicle has two rows of forward-facing seats situated inside the cab portion, allowing both the operator and passengers to look outside via the high visibility cab portion. A CVT and steering-wheel interface for steering is utilized to provide the operator with an intuitive driving experience.

  • Publication number: 20150366729
Abstract: Described are chairs having a seat with a sitting location above the floor, a base that sits on a floor, a lift connecting the seat and the base, the lift capable of moving the seat up and down from the sitting location to a lower location at the floor, and a control system operating the lift. The control system allows an occupant of the chair to move the seat between its sitting location and the lower location at the floor to enable the occupant to pick up or place an item on the floor while sitting in the chair and thereafter to move the seat upwardly.

  • Patent number: 8914918
Abstract: An anti-horse collar tackle safety device, comprising a base having means for attaching the base to a pair of shoulder pads, wherein the base comprises an interior portion facing the shoulder pads and an exterior portion that is accessible from outside a jersey placed over the shoulder pads, and a releasable portion releasably attached to the exterior portion of the base via means for releasable attachment, wherein the releasable portion is configured to release via application of a force equal to or less than about 15 pounds.

  • Publication number: 20140197265
Abstract: A driven layon roller apparatus for a plastic film or sheet winder is driven in rotation by a magnetic coupling. The magnetic coupling allows for torque to be transmitted to the layon roller of the apparatus to rotate the layon roller while adding little or no inertia and imposing little or no radial force to the layon roller as the layon roller moves position relative to the winder.

  • Publication number: 20060036099
Abstract: This invention provides a process for the N-halogenation of at least one 5-hydrocarbyl hydantoin and/or at least one 5,5-dihydrocarbyl hydantoin. The process comprises concurrently feeding into a reaction zone (i) water, inorganic base, and 5,5-dimethylhydantoin, these being fed separately and/or in any combination(s), (ii) a separate feed of a brominating agent, and (iii) a separate feed of a chlorinating agent, in proportions such that during all or substantially all of the time the concurrent feeding is occurring halogenation of the 5-hydrocarbyl hydantoin and/or 5,5-dihydrocarbyl hydantoin occurs and resultant halogenated product precipitates in the liquid phase of an aqueous reaction mixture, and in which the pH of the liquid phase is continuously or substantially continuously maintained in the range of about 2.0 to about 8.0 during all or substantially all of the time the concurrent feeding is occurring.

  • Publication number: 20050049420
Abstract: The process enables highly effective N-halogenation of a compound having one or more halogenatable amido or imido functional groups in the molecule. The process involves, for example, concurrently feeding into a reactor (i) water, inorganic base, and the compound to be N-halogenated, e.g., a hydantoin, and a feed of (ii) a brominating agent and/or a chlorinating agent. The proportions of these feeds are such that the pH is kept at 5 or below or within a specified range e.g., 5.5-8.5 and one or more of the amido or imido nitrogen atoms is substituted by a bromine or chlorine atom. A feature of the process is that it can be conducted at elevated temperatures as high as about 90° C. without appreciable thermal decomposition of reactants or product. The resultant product continuously precipitates in high yield and purity. Moreover, products can be produced that are very pale yellow to almost pure white in appearance.

  • Publication number: 20030014282
Abstract: A method and system for creating a conveniently accessible medical history. An information-input node receives medical information and transmits it through an information-transmission connection to a record-creating node, which is remote from the information-input node. The record creating node is for receiving the information through the information-transmission connection, for configuring it into a medical history record, and for transmitting the medical history record. There is also a record output node, remote from the record-creating node, for receiving the medical history record and for storing it on a portable readable storage medium.
