  • Patent number: 10462540
Abstract: A patch cable and system for interconnecting a pair of terminals, each of the terminals comprising a terminal RFID transponder comprising a unique ID, and for use with a cradle comprising a cradle RFID antenna. The patch cable comprises a pair of connectors, one of the connectors at each end of and interconnected by a guided transmission medium, a connector RFID antenna associated with each of the pair of connectors, a cable RFID transponder positioned along the patch cable between the connectors for communicating with the cradle RFID antenna. When the cable RFID transponder is brought into proximity with the cradle RFID antenna, RF signals emitted by the cradle RFID antenna provide power to and communications with the cable RFID transponder for powering the connector RFID antennas and retrieving the unique IDs of the pair of terminals and communicating the unique IDs to the cradle.

  • Patent number: 9756494
Abstract: A processor receives a request to access the service via the software client. The processor sends to a network service provider a request for validation of a current location as to a coverage of an emergency service, when the current location was not previously validated for the coverage of the emergency service. The processor determines whether a response is received from the network service provider, indicating that the current location is validated for the coverage of the emergency service, wherein the response includes an address identifier associated with the current location for accessing the emergency service. The processor performs a registration with the network service provider via the software client at the current location, when the response is received indicating that the current location is validated for the coverage of the emergency service and enables the user to access the service via the software client at the current location.

  • Patent number: 9730043
Abstract: In compliance with regulatory requirements imposed on multicarrier wired/wireless network carriers, the disclosed system receives input representing a selection of a street address to be used as a current location associated with a user identity. The system determines an expiration date associated with the street address, designates the street address as a validated emergency contact location for the user identity in response to determining that the expiration date associated with the street address has not expired. The system thereafter permits the establishment of communications between the system and a disparate wireless network device associated with a multicarrier wireless network.

  • Patent number: 9380440
Abstract: Efficient processing and/or routing of emergency calls in an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) for VoIP (Voice over IP) subscribers can be enabled. In one aspect, an E911 profile is generated, for example, by an application server, for each VoIP subscriber based in part on current location information associated with the subscriber, such as, the subscriber's IP address. The E911 profile is pushed to the HSS (Home Subscriber Server) of the IMS. The E911 profile can then be stored in the HSS and can be queried by an E-CSCF (Emergency Call Session Control Function) during emergency call processing. Moreover, when an emergency call is received from the subscriber, the E-CSCF can retrieve the E911 profile associated with the subscriber from the HSS and route the call to an appropriate PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) based on an analysis of the information in the E911 profile.
