Patent number: 9756494Abstract: A processor receives a request to access the service via the software client. The processor sends to a network service provider a request for validation of a current location as to a coverage of an emergency service, when the current location was not previously validated for the coverage of the emergency service. The processor determines whether a response is received from the network service provider, indicating that the current location is validated for the coverage of the emergency service, wherein the response includes an address identifier associated with the current location for accessing the emergency service. The processor performs a registration with the network service provider via the software client at the current location, when the response is received indicating that the current location is validated for the coverage of the emergency service and enables the user to access the service via the software client at the current location.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2015Date of Patent: September 5, 2017Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Stephanie Parlamas, Sergio Kadi, Feza Buyukdura, Vimal Patel, Dwayne Crawford

Patent number: 9730043Abstract: In compliance with regulatory requirements imposed on multicarrier wired/wireless network carriers, the disclosed system receives input representing a selection of a street address to be used as a current location associated with a user identity. The system determines an expiration date associated with the street address, designates the street address as a validated emergency contact location for the user identity in response to determining that the expiration date associated with the street address has not expired. The system thereafter permits the establishment of communications between the system and a disparate wireless network device associated with a multicarrier wireless network.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2017Date of Patent: August 8, 2017Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Sergio Kadi, Jing Chen, Feza Buyukdura, Dwayne Crawford, Stephanie Parlamas

Patent number: 9380440Abstract: Efficient processing and/or routing of emergency calls in an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) for VoIP (Voice over IP) subscribers can be enabled. In one aspect, an E911 profile is generated, for example, by an application server, for each VoIP subscriber based in part on current location information associated with the subscriber, such as, the subscriber's IP address. The E911 profile is pushed to the HSS (Home Subscriber Server) of the IMS. The E911 profile can then be stored in the HSS and can be queried by an E-CSCF (Emergency Call Session Control Function) during emergency call processing. Moreover, when an emergency call is received from the subscriber, the E-CSCF can retrieve the E911 profile associated with the subscriber from the HSS and route the call to an appropriate PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) based on an analysis of the information in the E911 profile.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2014Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Dwayne Crawford, Richard L.
