  • Patent number: 4567895
Abstract: A fully wetted ultrasound scanhead for medical applications is described in which the motor and the rotor are enclosed within a sealed housing filled with ultrasound coupling fluid. The invention includes a drive belt to drive the rotor from the motor, rather than a precision drive means. Speed adjustment means, including an encoder disk mounted on the rotor, provide feedback for an electronic speed controller. Accordingly, the speed of the motor can be adjusted as a direct consequence of the actual speed of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4297930
Abstract: A photographic processing apparatus for severing an advancing strip into successive segments and for mechanically segregating the segments in conjunction therewith includes a strip feed for advancing the strip in a lengthwise direction and a guide for guiding the strip past a cutting station in a predetermined path of advance. A cutting blade is mounted at the cutting station and is operable to sever from the strip the segments thereof that have passed the cutting station. The blade has a home position wherein it permits passage of the strip along the path of advance before severance and is movable through a cutting stroke from the home position and back into the home position. The blade has a deflecting position wherein it permits passage of the strip beyond the cutting station while deflecting the strip from the path of advance. A blade actuator is provided to move the blade into and from the home position and deflecting position and through the cutting stroke in timed relation to strip advancement.

  • Patent number: 4084099
Abstract: An improvement for use with an automatic print cutter mechanism which is actuated by sensing control indicia positioned along a continuous strip of photographic prints, said improvement comprising a wide scanning angle sensor capable of detecting said indicia of numerous configurations when same are misaligned with respect to the center line of said sensor and means for independent lateral and transverse adjustment of said sensor.

  • Patent number: 4082943
Abstract: A system and method for reading machine-readable information from a carrier and printing information onto said carrier or other means is presented. The system comprises a reader means, storage means, printer means, enable means, read repeat means and annunciator means. Circuitry is provided fordetermining when an unsuccessful scan has resulted and thereafter commanding a rescan of the code until a successful scan is obtained or a predetermined limited number of unsuccessful rescans have been completed. The system may include means for modifying the relative position of the scanning means with respect to the carrier during successive rescans. When successful read and print cycles are completed, the carrier means is positioned appropriately for human retrieval. An annuciator means is employed to signal the human controller when the allowable number of rescans has been exhausted without successfully reading the coded information.
