Abstract: Methods for providing a privacy setting for a target user relative to relationships with a number of other users in a social network utilizing an electronic computing device are presented, the method including: causing the electronic computing device to retrieve a current privacy setting for a common profile item, where the common profile item corresponds with the target user and each of the number of other users, and where the common profile item is one of a number of common profile items; causing the electronic computing device to calculate a pseudo-common profile item sensitivity value for the common profile item based on the current privacy settings of the target user and the number of other users; causing the electronic computing device to calculate a final common profile item sensitivity value for the common profile item based on the current privacy setting.

Abstract: The present invention provides a way to efficiently validate and process requests, such as deletion requests, that affect items having associated objects in a content management system. When the request is received, a timestamp for the item is retrieved. A timestamp for any objects affected by the request are then retrieved and checked against the timestamp for the item. The request is then completed on the item and objects based on the respective timestamps for the item and the objects.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for coordinating the backup of multiple databases and file systems in a Content Manager system. This is accomplished by “pausing” the library server to enable the desired coordinated backup of all servers, that is, the Library Servers and the Resource Servers. The coordinated backup is accomplished by both “pausing” and coordinated backup, and without interrupting a transaction which is in progress. This is accomplished by a consideration of the full CM transaction rather then just the individual elemental library server and resource manager transactions. The effect is to allow existing operations to complete, and involves “pausing” the library server to enable coordinated backup of all servers without interrupting a content management transaction which is in progress, if they complete within an interval specified by the administrator.
