    Abstract: A joint for bonding two wooden segments comprises a staggered finger joint having adjacent tips staggered with respect to one another to define corresponding staggered roots whose voids are configured to accept the staggered tips of a wood segment to be bonded. The resulting stress concentrations at the joint are also staggered, and do not bridge across adjacent fingers.
