  • Publication number: 20150260838
Abstract: Techniques are provided for sparse array RF imaging for surveillance applications. Objects in a three dimensional (3-D) image-data-set obtained from multi-static radio frequency detection data are classified, for example, as human or non-human. One or more geometric image features are extracted from the image-data-set that support a target classification process; and the one or more objects are classified as a threat based on a parametric evaluation of the extracted geometric image features.

  • Patent number: 9075143
Abstract: Techniques are provided for sparse array RF imaging for surveillance applications. The present invention enables object image identification using a sparsely populated array of distributed radio nodes deployed and operated as a radar detection, tracking and identification application. Three-dimensional object images are formed, from which estimates of extent and shape can be extracted for objects that are detected in the vicinity of the deployed radar array. In addition, techniques are provided for the identification and/or classification of vehicles, humans and fauna through feature extraction from the formed three-dimensional images.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 29, 2011
Date of Patent: July 7, 2015
    Assignee: Applied Physical Sciences Corp.

  • Patent number: 4045005
Abstract: A blending device is described for providing a uniform mix of particulate material. A pressurized fluid is conducted into a plenum surrounding a mixing chamber proximate the lower end thereof. An annular slit in the wall between the plenum and the mixing chamber allows the pressurized fluid to discharge through the slit for agitating particulate material contained in the mixing chamber.

  • Patent number: 4035452
Abstract: Particulate graphite having a particle size not greater than about 1500 microns is impregnated with a polymerizeable organic compound in liquid form. The impregnated particles are treated with a hot aqueous acid solution to at least begin the polymerization reaction and remove excess impregnant from the outer surface thereof. The treated particles are heated to complete the polymerization and then blended with particulate nuclear fuel. A nuclear fuel body is formed by joining the blend into a cohesive mass using a carbonaceous binder.

  • Patent number: 4024209
Abstract: A mold cavity is only partially filled with nuclear fuel particles and is closed. The volume of the cavity is then reduced until the fuel particles substantially fill the mold cavity. The mold may be heated and a fluid solidifiable binder injected into the mold cavity to fill the interstices between the fuel particles while the cavity volume is further decreased during injection of the binder to avoid formation of voids. Flow of excess binder through an upper vent passage assures complete filling of the cavity.
