    Abstract: Provided herein is a composition comprising a deliverable substance in a matrix for controlled delivery. The composition comprises cellulose micro fibers (“CMF”), an inert particle substance, and a deliverable substance. This general formula may be applied to a wide range of products, as discussed in detail below. For example, described herein are dog treat compositions comprising cellulose micro fibers which are a substitute for rawhide dog chews. Dog treats made as described herein are very durable and have a wide spectrum of possible sizes, flavors and properties.
