  • Patent number: 7338045
Abstract: A three-dimensional maze game in the form of a hand-held toy. The hand held toy is in the form of a cube. The toy comprises a substantially cubic non-transparent body containing a plurality of intersecting pathways for an object and an entrance aperture and single/multiple exit apertures connecting the pathways wherein each intersection formed by the intersecting pathways is provided with means to bring the object to rest till the toy is tilted and the object follows a vertical pathway that is defined by the tilting of the toy. The object is inserted into an entry point in the toy and the player has to bring the object out through an exit point by following a fixed number of steps in turning the toy. The challenge is to find the correct sequence of turns and considerable amount of mental dexterity is required for the purpose.

  • Patent number: 4004816
Abstract: A record player is organized to play in succession a series of records to provide a programmer simulating an operatic performance, or playing of music of a selected mood extending over a period of time. The player also permits of automatic multiple playings of a single record. Simplified indicating and control means makes the programmer easily understood and easily operated. The player provides the aforesaid performance with either the standard 7 inch 45 RPM records or the standard 12 inch 33 RPM records. The mechanism employed is especially constructed to avoid disturbing mechanical noises.

  • Patent number: 3973777
Abstract: The present invention provides, in a record player, a cueing control means embodying a hydraulic control member which utilizes the viscosity of a fluid of high internal friction and which provides for a substantially uniform rate of withdrawal of the needle from the groove and a uniform rate of return of the needle to the groove. The rate of movement may be adjusted but preferably remains the same within the cycle of withdrawal of the needle and its return to the groove. This substantially obviates change in tone or pitch which will occur if the rate of withdrawal differs from the rate of needle reentry into the groove. The hydraulic fluid employed in the preferred embodiment of the invention is one or more discrete bodies of silicone grease, or its equivalent. This material is stable under a wide range of conditions of temperature and pressure. It is cohesive and is inert to metals with which it is in contact.

  • Patent number: 3949995
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention two independent controls of the application of the pickup needle to the groove are provided. The first control involves means to overcome the tendency of the needle to skate up and sidewise out of the groove, and the second involves an adjustment of the downward pressure on the needle to keep it fully in contact with the walls of the groove. Two independent influences are required--the first acting generally parallel to or diagonally downward to the plane of the record groove and the second requires an influence acting mainly normal to the plane of the record groove. The two tendencies arise from causes which are independent of each other, and for best reproduction they require independent corrective measures accordingly. Conveniently operable independent controls for each of the above requirements, respectively, are provided in a convenient location on the player, according to the present invention.
