  • Patent number: 12418740
Abstract: Audio drop outs may be reduced by incorporating audio latency variability metrics in handover decision making algorithms. In aspects, predictive audio latency variability metrics, in combination with signal quality measurements, are used to determine when to handover primary earbud responsibilities between earbuds of an earbud system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 10, 2023
Date of Patent: September 16, 2025
    Assignee: Bose Corporation
Inventors: Dylan Maxwell Reilly, Michael William Elliot

  • Patent number: 11310594
Abstract: Various aspects include a speaker including: an acoustic transducer for providing an audio output; a set of microphones for detecting a user voice command; and a controller coupled with the acoustic transducer and the set of microphones, wherein the controller is configured to: in response to detecting a power down command, switch the set of microphones from an active listening mode to a standby mode for a parking period, in response to detecting a power up command during the parking period, switch the set of microphones from the standby mode to the active listening mode after a first time period, and in response to detecting the power up command after expiration of the parking period switch the set of microphones from the standby mode to the active listening mode after a second time period that is greater than the first time period.

  • Patent number: 7380125
Abstract: A smart card system is disclosed for secure transmission of post issuance data to a embedded chip using a chip relay module, a plurality of hardware security modules, a first communication system having two security layers and a second communication system having four security layers. The first communication system may be considered a server side system and comprises a chip management system, a security server having a first hardware security module, a distribution server having a second hardware security module and a computer system connected by a network. The first communication system has a first security layer and a second security layer. The first security layer comprises mutual authentication that makes each component of the first communication system a trusted node to the others through client mutual authentication. The second security layer comprises system keys for secure communication between the hardware security modules.
